Might as well pencil in the Phillies as NL champions

Unless you have a team in the NL who can beat them. It sure isn't the Dodgers who could have easily got swept. I know today's game isn't over yet but it seems unlikely they will come back down 4 runs with 1 inning to go. The only game the Dodgers won was by scoring two in the ninth. Phillies still have easiest remaining schedule. They will be 34-18 at home provided they win today. Nola will pitch twice in a 5 or 7 game series if both go the distance. Give me one team in the NL they should fear. The Cubs who looked like they were starting to roll and just lost two in a row. The Brewers who were in a horrible tailspin before just coming out of it. The Braves who looked for a while like they were going to run away in the NL East until the Phillies past them. Diamondbacks, Rockies, the Pirates??? Phillies make a lot of errors, their bullpen is suspect, they go for stretches where they can't score runs. But they have deep starting pitching. Nola and Velasquez. Velasquez has given up 1 run in his last 3 starts. Nola 7 runs in 5 starts. Hoskins has gotten hot and his bat can carry this team.

Pirates and Rockies are lava hot.

Long way to go. A lot will change.

Phillies just aren't dominant enough to call them now. No way.

My Phillies still have a long, long way to go....but I like the direction that they are going....

More relief pitching is needed along with another infield bat...

So are you officially retarded? Or just kinda special?

Well, there really isn't a team in the National League exactly tearing it up right now. Saying you can "pencil" them in is a little brash, but their record is as good as anyone's in the National League. Seems like the power teams are in the American League. I lean the Dodgers as of now, but the season has a ways to go still.

I'm surprised the NL hasn't adopted the DH yet. It's such an odd thing in sports, the Eastern/Western conference in NBA/NHL and AFC/NFC in football all play by the same rules.

Agreed, love the progression of the team, but they still have a ways to go. The NL is anyone’s game, but would still think the Dodgers-Cubs have to be the favorites to square off again in the NLCS.
