Why the Athletics on Monday at -140...the A's should be happy to be home after getting swept in Colorado after winning six in a row. Opening the home series for the A's will be Edwin Jackson who is coming off of a shaky start IN Texas where he allowed 5 ER over 4 IP on 7 H. Taking a deeper look into that start against the Rangers, Jackson saw a velocity jump with all pitches above season average, including a FBv jump from 92.1 mph in his PS to 94.1 mph in his LS. Jackson has put up healthy home numbers this season where he brings a 3.46 era over 13 IP with a 12 K/BB ratio and a .069 BABIP against. Blue Jays with a combined 71 ABs vs. Jackson with a .239 BA and 1 HR with no exposure in 2018. The Jays come into Oakland after taking two of three from the White Sox. Marco Estrada will toe the rubber for Toronto who is making a return from the DL. Estrada's rehab numbers don't instill much confidence as he allowed 3 ER over 3 IP on 3 Ks and 2 BBs. Estrada did make his last rehab start on Tuesday, a start that was shortened due to a right middle finger blister. Before going on the DL, Estrada posted a road era of 4.97 with a 2.21 K/BB ratio and a .313 BABIP against. A's with a combined 60 ABs vs. Estrada to match a .250 BA/.324 OBP and 2 HRs. Going to back the A's bullpen who brings a 2.70 era over their L14 Days compared to the Jays bullpen era of 10.13 during the same span.
