[h=1]The Pittsburgh Steelers 2018 Prediction[/h]https://donnyaction.wordpress.com/2018/07/24/the-pittsburgh-steelers-2018-prediction/

The Steelers are once again Super Bowl contenders at 7 to 1 to win it all. With the 3 B’s – Big Ben, Brown & Bell they are one of the public favorites. Not so fast. I am going to give you a ton of reasons why they are simply not Super Bowl material.
Let’s start with the 3 B’s. They should be called the 3 M’s as in (me, me, me). Big Ben- As a lifelong Steelers fan, he is the biggest cry baby I have ever seen in the history of the team. He has never been the leader of the team . I remember a few years back when Hines Ward & The Bus called him out for him thinking he was too big for the team. The Steelers drafted QB Mason Rudolph this year. Ben first quote was “I am not going to mentor him”. Wow, there’s a leader.

Ben cannot beat Brady and here is one of the reasons. In the last 2 years in the playoffs, The Steelers had 4[SUP]th[/SUP] & short for first downs 3 times. Ben is 6’5 & 240 lbs. Not once did Ben call a QB sneak. He was quoted “Coach Tomlin & coach Haley said I was not allowed to call a QB sneak”. Are you freaking kidding me. This is a 15 year veteran afraid to call his own #. He needs to grow a set. I have seen Brady many times put his head down to get that first down for the team. That’s why he is a winner.

On to Le’Veon Bell. What is there to say about someone who just turned down a 70 Million dollar contract. 14 million a year. The highest paid back right now is at 8.2 mil. Not smart. People have a short term memory. This is a running back with 2 major knee injuries & a weed suspension.

Now the infamous Antonio Brown. AB is at 17 million a year from the HUGE contract last year. So what does he

  1. He pulls up to training camp in Bonnie & Clyde style rolls Royce convertible with a chauffeur. Again, The 3 B’s are all about look at me ,me.

The coaching staff. Head coach Mike Tomlin. Voted 5[SUP]th[/SUP] best coach in the NFL. What a freaking
joke. Without hall of famer QB Big Ben he is another Marvin Lewis. Here is classic Tomlin. In the week preparing
for the Jacksonville playoff game, He’s talking about Playing New England. He then picks to defend against the Jags
and in the first drive, The Jags shove it down the Steelers throat for a TD.

Defensive coordinator Keith Butler is awful.

Randy Fichtner is the Steelers’ new offensive coordinator with no experience.

The Steelers Defense. Not good. The defensive line put up record sacks last year. They played nobody last
year and their division stunk.
When they played against an above average QB, the pass defense got torched. The organization has done next to
nothing to improve the defense since they lost the Super Bowl in 2010.

Here is an example of a winning team. The New England Patriots. They prepare, they focus & then they execute.
The only thing the Steelers prepare for is TD celebration.

Gone are the true veteran leadership. The Bus, Troy Polamalu, Arron Smith, Casey Hampton & Hines Ward.
Now the Tomlin built team is full of Millennial tools.

The Steelers do not have the ingredients to be Super Bowl Champs.

Your best bet is to take the team total wins UNDER 11.5

Love it the write up, and I think it's a sure winner!

5Dimes offers...

Pitt Under 11.5 (-275)

Pitt Under 10.5 (-130)

You get paid double for that 1 game difference. I think Under 10.5 is the play. Good Luck.

Nice little nugget courtesy of Gil Alexander from his VSIN show on 7/30 to support your under .

Teams not named the Patriots with win expectations of 10 or more have gone 30-45-5 (37.5 %) since 2001.

Bingo. Major dissension. Bell going to hold out and show up for game 1 and Tomlin will start him. This after the rest of the team sweated their asses off during training camp.

Case really well made Big Don, I concur with many of the points although not being a fan I wasn't aware of some of the selfishness of those stars--mind you its part of a sign of the times my friend....I feel the Pit D is VERY suspect and I am not sure how more years of consistent play Big Ben has left in him, even last year he threw some awful picks and looked like a guy closing in on the end at times.

This is one of the reasons I am quite bullish about theChargers in the AFC, I just feel the steelers are over-valued and there is alack of depth to that conference…sure someone still has to dethrone NE but itis going to happen sooner rather than later and at above 40 it’s not going tobe easy for Brady, not sure NE has done enough to improve albeit getting Gronkback helps.

It wouldn’t shock me if Pit end up an underwhelming 10-6 or9-7 and no factor in the playoffs, there’s a few emerging teams ready tochallenge LAC, Jax, Hou all look to have more upside.

Cheers for your write up, let’s make some money this year onthese futures!

Thanks W are G! I agree. LAC,Hou. I also like Oakland. Chucky is a great coach. I see them making some noise just on coaching alone. If Watson stays healthy all year Texans will be there.

Big Ben says he is staying 3 more years. If he does he will be crippled when he retires.

Big Ben is a winner. He's won a Superbowl. I do agree with most of everything you said but that bit about Antoine Brown was way off and pointless. I never miss a Steelers game. Brown is a beast and a team player. He can show up in whatever ride he wants. He earned it and he can afford it. Has nothing to do with his work ethic or talent.

One of the best receivers in the game that makes spectacular plays looks routine.

Everything else I can agree with. Also, yes, Big Ben has been playing to not get hurt for awhile now and it shows. He used to take a lot of hits and hold onto the ball and not be afraid. Now you can tell he doesn't want to get hurt and it affects his game.

Question to you Steelers fans (or Ravens fans for that matter) that watch every game and obviously watch your divisional opponents close too, what chances do you give the Ravens of pinching the division from Pit this year? I saw a book offering better than 5/1 I thought that was a bit of value given how many close games Pit seemed to get out of jail last season, wouldn't take much for Pit to drop to 9-7 would be my thoughts, I really don't like the Pit D, their record after losing Shazier was very poor.

Not going to argue your point about AB. He is the best in the game. Its his character. It sucks. He is a pussy just like Ben. If he doesn't get the ball he starts throwing tantrums. I am convinced he cares about is himself and his stats. I don't think he cares about winning a Super Bowl. He is not a good team mate and does not lead by example. The icing on the cake is when after the Steelers beat K.C. in playoff game he films the locker room celebration and post it on facebook. WTF is that. Then Tomlin at his pres conference talks a big game about dealing with him and he didnt do a damm thing.

The #1 problem with the Steelers is the head coach. He is a joke & has no control of his staff or team. Yet he is so arrogant because he can never be fired because he is the Rooney rule christ child. He is so overrated. 3 and 6 since 2010 in the playoffs.

This is a great bet on the Ravens. Pit total point difference in last years wins were 98. The Ravens were 92. The Ravens are pretty close to even with the Steelers.

This bet is looking better by the week. 0-1-1 They have to win 13 out of 14 games to cover.

Excellent.
Well done!
I think you are spot on.
The Steelers aren’t the Steelers anymore.
Wish I had seen this earlier, I took them yesterday, at home they seemed to play better last year, even though it is noticeable that they are accumulating weaknedsss as you describe.
Good to see detailed analysis in lieu of picking contests with no backup.
Thanks!
