I may hammer that under.
Any reason not to?

It would seem rather obvious that LSU will have major problems winning 8 games this season. Their offense lacks the leadership at QB and at RB. This does not help Coach O and his new "Pro" style offense. Once again it appears that LSU will have to depend on their defense, which while good, is not as good as previous years. Then there is the killer schedule. Miami (FL) in Arlington to open the season. Games at Auburn and Texas A&M. Crossover games at Florida and against Georgia. Home games against Miss. State and Alabama. That is 7 potential losses. Can LSU win three of those games to go 8-4? Highly unlikely.

I'd lean under here as well, but there is risk.
The concern I have with the under is the Ohio State QB transfer Burrow. I know he doesn't have much experience but he did look good in the Spring Game and when combined with the plan for LSU to open up the offense, it could make them more of a wildcard. I agree that most likely it would take more than this fall to implement, but if things click early it could make it very interesting late (close with Arkansas, Rice and Texas A&M - all winnable games).

I took a small bet on LSU Under 7 @ +120. Could have went Under 7.5 @ -135 but didn't like the -135.

Why did you not play it both ways? That gives you a little insurance against the Under 7 wager.

I like the Over knowing the Tigers lost 12 or so starters including 6 to the NFL.

The defense will be stout and the offense will surprise this year. Too many good
players on this team to fold the tent.

Clover, I hear that every season and LSU ALWAYS fails to cut it. Losses to Miami (FL), @ Auburn, @Florida, Georgia, and Alabama are just about locks. Losses to Miss. State and Texas A&M are certainly possible. Orgeron is lucky if he gets to play in the Texas Bowl.

Man, you really don't know what you're talking about.

LSU's defense is going to be the best they have had in five years. The offense will finally have a good QB and they are loaded at wide receiver....and LSU always has an excellent RB, you just don't know his name yet. My prediction is a 9-3 season with losses to Auburn, Alabama and Georgia.

How many times do I have to tell you people NOT to drink when you are posting. What a homer. LSU has no QB, an average RB corps at best, and a very average defense that is very thin up front. Their HC is terrible. If you really think that LSU is going to defeat Miami and Florida on the road, much less Mississippi State, you are another candidate for the purchase of beach front property in Kansas.

LSU could very well end up being a dumpster fire this season. There is a lot to dislike about them. Ed Orgeron is a fish out of water and promoting Ensminger to OC is a head scratcher, but they have talent - lots of talent. Enough talent to make you look foolish.

You are obviously a novice to this game so I’ll give you a little advise. Stay away from teams loaded with question marks (like LSU and Florida) until you see them perform on the field a few times. It is much easier and smarter to predict a known than an unknown. Despite what you think you know, you don’t.

Now to address your comments ...

You have made post after post about their QB situation. This position could very well be a problem but Joe Burrow is a unique talent who won the OSU starting job before being injured. To unequivocally say they don’t have a QB is a reach for anyone - even someone with your limited knowledge.

You have also made post after post about their defense - calling it average and very thin up front. Another completely factless fallacy on your part. They were the 12th rated overall defense in the country last year and return 7 starters including two first team preseason All-Americans. Their defensive front will be bolstered by the addition of Tyler Shelvin and Breiden Fehoko - both 5 star recruits (Shelvin was ineligible last year; Fehoko started at Texas Tech).

Aranda is one of the best D-coordinators in the country. The mere fact they finished 12th in the country in total defense last year while learning a new system is remarkable. It was especially remarkable when you look at all the underclassmen who were forced into action and the fact their O was horrible.

If this D ends up being anything less than very, very good you should get a job as a psychic. Because no one, including Miss Cleo, believes that will be the case.

Well genius.....tell us all again how “very average” LSU’s defense is.

I will say this - people post opinions, people post plays. We are ALL wrong on our plays often enough. Otherwise, we'd all be rich. However, if you are going to post opinion that sounds like it is fact, then you have to expect some criticism. I'm not condoning bashing here but a strong post laced with calling someone a homer and excusing them of drinking HAS to be able to take a jab back when they are wrong.
