Henderson has an airport, but don't know what type of service you are looking for. Either Flagstaff or Phoenix are around 4.5 hours away. If driving either way alot less traffic than coming from Cal.

St George is the closest, and there is a shuttle that will take you into Vegas for $40... or fly into LA and take the Megabus into Vegas for $25

got it.

How about a connecting flight from another city ?
think you can say connect the next day, which would give you a day somewhere... or guess it doesn't have to be the next day

Can't tell where you are from, but you might consider flying into Phoenix and driving up. It is a scenic drive through the mountains and desert and, depending on where you are from, you will find it to be much different in terms of landscape. Usually the drop off charges taking a car to LV is very, very low. With recent re-routing, you could make that trip from Phx airport to south LV in between four and 4.5 hours. Part of that is going over Hoover Dam which you might consider as another benefit.

Just remember if you do decide to drive from Phoenix to Vegas. . .

ValuePenguin, an organization that conducts research and analysis, ranked the 50 most dangerous highways in the United States based on information from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Fatality Analysis Reporting System (NHTSA-FARS).Information was pulled from crashes that occurred during the seven-year period between 2010 and 2016, and the organization's findings were released on June 28, according to ValuePenguin. To calculate the most dangerous highways, analysts developed a grading system based on fatal crashes per vehicle-miles-traveled (VMT) per capita, fatalities per crash and the percentage of fatal non-vehicle collisions. These three factors allowed ValuePenguin to take into account local ridership, where the deadliest crashes occur on average, and the safety risks on each road that weren’t caused by dealing with other drivers.Taking the top spot as the most dangerous highway in America was US-93 in Arizona with 70 fatal crashes and 90 fatalities. The most fatal crashes occurred in Mohave County, which is located about 125 miles from Las Vegas. The Arizona portion of the highway runs about 200 miles from Wickenburg, Arizona, to the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge.
