The NY Liberty are playing a home game at 11:00 am this morning (kids camp day). Love the Liberty for the following reasons:
. They normally play their home games in a 5,000 seat arena in Westchester County. This game is at Madison Square Garden which used to be their home arena prior to this season. A coming home of sorts to a large partisan crowd.
. They played at home on Saturday and tied a new WNBA low by scoring only 2 points in the final quarter on 0-15 shooting from the field (they made 2 free throws). The players were embarrassed and the coach chewed them out publicly for the first time.
. They play the best team in the league today (Seattle). But all WNBA teams fly commercial (not charter) and this was a long flight coupled with the time zones difference for this early game. Think west coast NFL teams who have to fly to the east coast for a 1pm start. This is even worse.
My strongest plays are on the Liberty at +3 for the first quarter and +170 money line for the first quarter. I'm looking for the Liberty to get off to a good start with Seattle being sluggish early on. Smaller plays on the Liberty for the game at +10 and the money line at +400.
