The second batch of numbers from Delaware sports betting is out, and the state has now taken more than $15 million in wagers since launch on June 5.

For the period from June 25 through July 29, the Delaware Lottery reported that more than $8.2 million in wagers were placed in the state. In the first report from June, which covered about three weeks, $7 million in wagers were placed.
If you add both reports together, you get $15,218,490 in handle.
Revenue was down for the new period of 35 days, clocking in at just $527,000 that was split between the state, its three casinos and the vendors supplying sports betting. In the 20-day June period, revenue was more than $1 million.
How does handle stack up?
The two time periods are not apples to apples. So we can look at the amount wagered on a daily basis:
Period one: $350,186 per day in handle
Period two: $234,707 per day in handle
That the number would go down is not terribly shocking. For one, there was a lot of excitement around the launch in Delaware, which was the first state outside of Nevada to accept legal wagers.
July is also one of the deadest periods on the sports calendar, which corresponds with less wagering. The numbers in Delaware are not likely to get much more exciting until the start of football season, when betting should increase exponentially.
Delaware also does not have mobile wagering — which is now a thing in New Jersey sports betting thanks to DraftKings Sportsbook. While Delaware had earlier intimated it had plans to offer online wagering, those apparently have been put on the back burner.
