Ehh, 10 years away from the game is a long time. Wasn't a fan of Oak's offseason at all, he made a lot of moves signing "name" vets and I just think thats a strategy from a bygone era.
The # of snaps, impact that older players are having in the league has declined rapidly in the last 7-8 years. Squeezing a few more years out of those 30 somethings just doesn't work as well as it used to.
Maybe Carr and him make some magic but I think we're looking at Joe Gibbs Part 2 on the Skins all over again with them.

Gibbs was not from a different era. He was from a different epoch.
I'm not saying Gruden will have them winning a Superbowl or some crazy shit like that, but he'll have them winning.
Gruden was the king of managing trash QB's. Look at Oak and Tampa Bay. They didn't win b/c of the QB's they had. They won b/c Gruden was at the helm. Plain and simple. Also, Gruden beat the Patriots in New England before we found out that Bellicheat is close to God... oh wait, the game got rigged and New England won.
But I think that is a good description of Gruden. He can go into New England and smash Bellicheat's head against the wall and compete.
It's early so I don't expect them to win out the gate. And they've got Corky a door-to-door Bible salesman as their QB, but Gruden will get the train going. Just a matter of time.
Think 9-7 is a decent goal for year one. 10-6 would be fantastic.

I'm not doubting his resume, he was a top tier coach when he coached but coaching vs TV is just a whole different animal when it comes to analyzing the game.
10 years is a long damn time, look at Jeff Fisher with the Rams 2 years ago. He was a good coach from that era as well. Game changes fast, and not everyone adapts like Bill Belichick or even Andy Reid.
Just their offseason alone has me thinking he's taking a very antiquated approach.
Beyond that, I just think that team is in a shitty situation in general. In a year, they're not even going to have a homefield in Vegas as that will become the vacation weekend for every visiting team's fan base.
