Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke for the first time since he failed to remove his baseball cap during the playing of the national anthem. It happened two weeks ago at the opening of training camp in Oxnard, California, with Dale Hansen of Dallas-Fort Worth’s WFAA calling out Jones with video evidence of Jones violating the United States Flag Code.

On Sunday, DavidMoore of the Dallas Morning News asked Jones if he had a comment about it. Jones answered, “No. No. No.”

Jones has said the Cowboys have a team policy that requires players to stand with “toes on the line” during the playing of the national anthem. Executive vice president Stephen Jones has made it even more clear that standing for the anthem is a requirement, not a request.

The Cowboys are one of the few teams never to have had a player protest during the national anthem.

There’s a thread from the other side.

Jerry, show some respect. lollll.

All joking aside, this honestly is way more of an issue. People failing to remove their hats is more of an issue than someone kneeling.

because you have no reason at all not to remove your hat.

Kick the cowboys out of the league!!!!

Just kidding.

I read this and thought that Jerry had to have had some surgery/procedure on his head where it cannot be exposed to the sun. I know Jerry is a HUGE advocate of players standing for the flag and couldnt see him show any disrespect for our anthem.

Leaving you hat on is one thing, saying you're leaving you hat on to protest systematic racism and social injustice would be a MUCH BIGGER STORY

It's too easy for too many people to create some fake narrative of equivalence when there's no comparison

I blame our always lying media and our education system for letting so many people down
