You don't have to be a member to join the contest. But to cash any winnings you would need to become a PRO before week 10 of the contest.
At the end of week 10, all non SBR PRO users will be removed from the contest.

All going Pro entails is verifying your account with a $100 charitable donation that goes to kids in need. This qualifies users and weeds out many potential ghost accounts. In return for going Pro, you get unlimited betpoint access, the ability to redeem any item you see in the SBR Store such as bitcoin, electronics, gift cards etc, and access to win any prize in all of the cash contests. Many members have raked in tens of thousands in prizes all for a one-time $100 donation, as renewing members can stay SBR Pro using their betpoint balance. If that doesn't sound good to you, to each their own.

As a pro, you receive twice as many, 12 points per day.
You also can gain hundreds, or thousands, of Betpoints and/or cash in the various contests, as a Pro.
