1. Clemson. With the best defense in the nation, all the offense has to do is pay attention and stick to business. Just do not give a game away. Most likely loss...Week 2 @ Texas A&M.

2. Alabama. The ground game is good enough and the defense is tough. If the QB situation does not explode in their face, a nice soft schedule gets them to the big dance. Most likely loss...Week 10 vs Mississippi State.

3. Washington. The defense is almost as good as Clemson's and the offense is better. No USC or Arizona on the schedule. Most likely loss...Week 7 @ Oregon.

4. Oklahoma. OU has the best talent in the Big 12. All they need is consistency. Easy Non-con schedule. Remember #1 plays #2 in the Big 12 CC game, just in case. Most likely loss...Week 6 vs Texas.

Other teams to watch for: Georgia. Another easy non-con schedule. They can afford a loss if they win the CC game ala last season. Most likely loss...Week 2 @ South Carolina. The Big 10 (+4, -9) #5 Combination Platter. You have Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, and Wisconsin all playing most of each other. It seems impossible for one of those 5 teams to escape the Conference with just one loss, and that is what it will probably take to make the big dance.

Did you see that wager at the Southpoint they're offering Pooh?

-390 to have one of these 5 teams to win the Championship. Oklahoma, UW, Ohio St., Clemson or Alabama.

+ money for the field.

You can rule Ohio State out. They will not even make the Playoffs. Penn State will finish them off while Meyer is on suspension, if he is still with the team to begin with. Seeing as Penn State, along with Georgia, Miami, and other good teams make up the field, to me the obvious wager is the field.

So only +250 for the field ? that's not a good bet. I would just pass over those teams and get GA at 9/1

I agree that the odds are very bad, but this is what you get when making wagers like that. Georgia is not going to make it unless they win the CC game and have 0 or 1 loss. The Committee lost a lot of credibility with the Big 10 and Pac 12 and they cannot afford another fiasco like last season.

Can't argue with that , but those reams are good , not great . GA is the only one that can be great imo..

There is zero chance that UGA doesn't make the playoffs if the have 1 loss and beat Bama in the SEC champ game. They could possibly lose 2 games and still get in, but no way in hell they don't make it with 1 lose and a win vs Bama.

Clemson should walk in. If UW loses to AU the first week, they will need some help...if Auburn has a 2 loss year...even if they run the table....will need a 2 loss SEC team. UGA has a favorable schedule but will have to win the SEC.

Overall, Clemson should have the easiest road, but only because Alabama may have to play Georgia in the SEC CC game. You can bet that Kirby Smart will not allow the Georgia team to forget how they gave the NC game away in the 2nd half to Alabama. If Washington defeats Auburn, they should have no trouble getting in, even if they lose at Oregon, (something they do quite often). The 4th spot can be wild. Oklahoma certainly has to be considered because of the lack of competition in the Big 12 and the fact that if they should slip in a conference game, they may get another shot at that team in the CC game. The Big 10 is a free for all. Outsider Michigan first has to get past a game at Notre Dame, then away games at Michigan State and Ohio State, and home games against Wisconsin and Penn State. Michigan State has it a bit easier, with a game at Penn State, and two at home vs Michigan and Ohio State. The latter goes to Penn State and Michigan State, and hosts Michigan. Penn State gets Ohio State, Michigan State, and Wisconsin at home, and goes to Michigan. Wisconsin goes to Michigan and Penn State, plus away games at Iowa and Northwestern. Maybe Penn State?

Pooh want to bet Oklahoma doesn't make playoff?
Not good enough. You have to tell me who beats them out of a spot. Now if you are saying that OU will end up with two losses, and 4 teams with 0 or 1 loss beat them out, I can buy that. If you are telling me that another Big 12 team beats them out, name your price.

UW is 60-45 all time against Oregon and in 2015, snapped a 12 game losing streak. So, going into 2003, the Dawgs were 60-33 all time against Oregon. UW has dominated the series throughout history.

Well you seem pretty confident in your picks. So I go back to you, not good enough.

LSUPete. You are leaving out the SEC and the Big 12 and have two Big 10 teams in, one of which is just about a lock to lose at least 2 games, and possibly up to 5.

Just curious:

1) Michigan and Penn State are in the same B1G division. You think both get in meaning that probably 1 team goes undefeated and the other will be a 1 loss team.

2) No love for the SEC? Both bama and UGA both lose 2 games?

Your picks are your picks. Just seems like a crazy curve ball

All I am saying is that no other Big 12 team beats out Oklahoma for a playoff spot. If OU loses two games, that is a different story.

OU loses to Texas, TCU, and Iowa St/OK St. Baker carried this team last year, defense was atrocious. Once Kyler faces adversity he calls it a day and goes and plays baseball.

Georgia is part of the field. And that's probably enough to make the plus side of that bet worth it. And then you have Florida State and Auburn, as well as Penn State, Michigan, Wisconsin, TCU.
