I'm not sure he's a qualified candidate or not, but I do know VT is pretty fucked up in the political arena

They're the ones that tend to elect communists and socialists, they're still living in the 60's, great grandma gives drugs to her 5 year old grand-transgender

My wifey is from VT. Her brother is actually a big shot in Burlington and his partner informed me that he was voting for Hallquist simply because it is "groundbreaking".
He had no idea if she would be a good Governor or not? Not sure of any of her policies. But being Transgender was enough to earn his vote.

My brother-in-law did tell me that during her 12 year stint as CEO for Vermont Electric she brought the company back from near bankruptcy.

I grew up there, went to UVM for undergrad... got out as fast as i could.

Bernie fucking Sanders was the major of Burlington while I was there.

Outside of Burlington Zit, i've found it to be conservative. My in-laws are VERY conservative, other than her Brother.
I'll be surprised if Hallquist can win the Governorship.

I love VT, I love all of NE, and the residents there live by conservative values. But as with all of NE, their politics are messed up.

My mom, RIP, was a hard core democrat. In her world, democrats were for the poor and good, republicans were for the wealthy and evil, and that's that. I would try to reach her by asking her what she believed about policy, I would tell her based on her life and her policy positions, she's a conservative Republican. She would respond by calling me a liar.

She worked hard, saved, obtained licenses to become a food service supervisor at nursing homes, saved, was loved by her bosses, saved, purchased real estate, saved, made her son go to college, saved, doesn't believe in welfare as a career, thought fathers should be responsible for their kids and people who can't afford babies should stop having babies, wanted to stop illegal immigration (remember when democrats wanted that?), supported law enforcement and the military. She just believed those were things the democrats wanted, and the evil republicans only cared about the rich.

How do you explain that? IDK

I took some MBA courses at St. Mikes... Yeah, I have a bunch of friends still up there that are conservative. I couldn't take the long, cold
winters any more!
