Long story short, I've begun a life changing weight loss journey. I gained all my weight from being a soda addict....4 cans a day since high school. It didn't hurt me until I quit playing basketball after my sophomore year of college, but it sure added up every year after that. Anyway, I'm super motivated, there is a girl involved, and I want to lose this quickly. I've completely stopped the soda and I'm working out 1-2 hours a day on an elliptical machine. My doctor said sure, work out 2 hours a day if you want, and there is no issue with losing it too quickly. However, my brother has warned me, saying that if you lose it too quickly like on the Biggest Loser, you permanently fuck up your metabolism for life. I've never known what to believe about anything related to weight loss, so I'm just trying to eat whole foods and bust my ass, and it's working. I can't seem to get a clear answer online as to the pace. I have a ton of momentum and I'm down to lose 100 pounds in 3 months.

I read some of the Mr hognuts walking thread, and saw Viejo Dinosaur lost like 100 pounds in 3-4 months. Viejo, any issues after? Just looking for the truth. Working out is easy and nothing but a mental challenge...I just don't want to fuck up my future, because now that the soda is gone, I want to be fit for the rest of my life, and I know that I can, if I don't screw my body up permanently.

100 lbs in 3-4 months will mess u up for the long term.

Diet and excercise is the trick

start counting calories with the my fitness pal app

soda sux but diet soda is worse!!

you will shred in a healthy way!!

cheat days once in a while isn’t the worse thing in the world either as it will actually help your body.

Best of luck!!

All you have to do is cut out meat, dairy and processed foods. Only drink water, coconut water or homemade juice. Eat fruit for breakfast, lunch being your biggest meal and a slight dinner. Only eat between 10am-6pm.

Certain things you just can't achieve in life.

But 1 thing you can do is eat healthy and look in shape.

It starts with consistency. No slacking especially when your talking about losing 100 lbs in 4 months.

Gym fees are as low as $9.99 a month. Planet fitness for 1. Most gym hours are from 5am-11pm. You make time.

No excuses....It can be done.

Good luck

oh, and losing 100lbs within 3-4 months isn't a Good thing

in your first 2 weeks you should lose 15+ lbs since you're going all out. But that weight loss should slow down. maybe 5-6 pounds a week

Good luck

3lbs / week or 10lbs/month is a much more reasonable goal

the activity level required really depends on your age
the older you are, the more likely weight loss is dependent on diet changes than increased activity. that being said, a balance between cardio and strength/weights/resistance training never hurt.

the biggest hurdle is going to be finding a sustainable diet. i honestly would start slow. this is a marathon, not a race. whatever you put on your plate, eat 80% instead of the full thing. then slowly work your way down. when you go out, ask for them to box half of the meal, then only serve half. the trick to eating less at breakfast/lunch/dinner is to snack in between so you go into each meal not particularly hungry. obviously pick healthy snacks. as far as fluid intake goes, avoid juice and soda. water, coffee, or tea is fine. don't even think about drinking alcohol.

if after two months you have logged sustained weight loss with a consistent maintenance or downtrend of weight, it means you're doing great. you might plateau as you gain muscle and lose fat and when you do, check your waist size and see if that is going down instead. the biggest key to you losing weight is finding a way to adjust the way you eat and to make it in such a way that you can do it basically for the rest of your life.

No sugar and no carbs and you will lose weight. Except the problem is most people don’t know healthy substitutes and they don’t realize sugar is in almost everything. So you are going to have to open up your taste buds and be willing to try stuff you’ve never had before.

Doesn’t mean go load up on red meat. I’ll make ground turkey over ground beef.

I’m not gonna go full blown into this, but you mentioned working out/elliptical everyday. I wouldn’t, take a rest day, it will do the body more good than an extra day of working out. Also, a cheat day on the diet is good as well. Good luck on your journey to a healthy lifestyle...

Dude what the fuck is your problem? The man said he wanted to lose 100 pounds in 4 months. I was trying to help. You know nothing about nutrition, stick to football. Oh wait, you don't know anything about that either lol.

Nobody should ever take nutritional advice from a vegan ever.

I don't really have a sweet tooth. Never did, other than soda. Why? I have no idea why I was such a weak ass punk bitch. Too late now to look back, though. Full speed ahead.

I will second the fasting. IMO there is many ways to lose weight you just have to find what works for you. Me personally, most days I don't eat anything until atleast 3:00, sometimes later. I just had my first and only meal of the day today and its 8:00. Now I understand that the fitness nerds are going to say what I'm doing isnt good. I don't care. It's what i've found that works for me personally because it doesn't bother me to skip breakfast and lunch and when I do it it doesn't matter as much when I eat a shitty dinner. I will also occasionally just straight up fast for 1-3 days with no food at all. Once you get past 24 hours you're really not hungry any longer.

Thanks for the advice, fellas. I think I'm gonna shoot for 100 pounds in a year. Diet and exercise should be no problem, and if I'm losing too much too quickly, I'll just order a pizza and take a day off once in awhile. I've done the elliptical for two hours today, and really want to get on it for a third session, but I guess I'll be safe and not over obsess.

When was there not a soda in my hand? I dunno, most people I meet now have never been into it, but me and all my friends drank it all the time in high school and college. I just never stopped.
