Spartans got some talent back for sure, they just have a rough schedule.

Pretty high on Michigan St. Get Ohio st and Michigan at home. Return nearly entire team. They did win a bunch of close ones last year but that can be looked at as a positive too. Don't think anyone but Wisconsin is coming out of the West. Return entire O-line plus a bunch of good backups!? Solid defense year in and year out. A lot riding on QB's shoulders but I think this is the year Wiscy finally wins the conference and gets into the playoffs. Better get it done this year cuz Nebraska is coming! :103631605

I do not see where Michigan State has such a tough schedule. Crossover games against Northwestern and @ Nebraska, and getting both Michigan and Ohio State at home, plus an easy non-con schedule. Michigan has the toughest schedule in the Big 10 East, with games at Notre Dame, Northwestern, Michigan State, and Ohio State, and home games against Wisconsin and Penn State.

The Big 10 Champion could well have two losses and may play in the Rose Bowl, instead of the Playoffs. There is no #1 team like there is in the other 4 Group of 5 Conferences.

Wisc may be that one loss team. Your scenario is very likely though.

As a Michigan fan I just hope Shea is a competent game manager. Can't be worse than last year.

I think that Ohio State is the clearly the best team in the b10. I'm still shocked the AP had Whisky ranked higher than them.I however don't know if they can get through their schedule without dropping one. Head to Head tie breakers in the East could be in play this year again.

Of the top 4 in the Big10, Michigan State is the only team that has to play straight through their conference schedule without a bye. (Their bye is after week 2) They get Northwestern, then at Penn St, and then host Michigan back to back to back. Northwestern? Why mention Northwestern you say. NW has beaten the Spartans the 3 out of last 4 games at East Lansing all as dogs. NW beat them last year in 3OT's at home. Sparty has a tough time with NW. Penn State hosts the Spartans on homecoming off of a bye after playing Ohio State. The good part about Sparty's schedule is NW is coming off of Mich. and Mich. will be coming off of Wisc.
Sparty gets Ohio State on Nov 10th. Both teams have easy games the week prior. And remember this, when Sparty played OSU tough in 2015 and 16 the Buc's were looking ahead to THE GAME, Michigan. No look ahead last year, OSU 48, MSU 3. No look ahead this year.

Ohio State is the best team on paper and I believe they will roll. When they added OC/QB/ now acting head coach Ryan Day they knocked off almost 5 seconds between offensive plays and showed some new wrinkles. The addition of Day coaching the offense with Haskins at QB has me believing in them. They get Penn St, Michigan St, and Michigan with no tough games in between. (Unless Nebraska suddenly becomes something, doubtful)
I have an Ohio State future of over 10.5 at -115. Hoping they are undefeated and then Michigan ruins their season, just like the old times!

Michigan has the toughest schedule. Starting at ND with a new QB and new offensive wrinkles (they have adjusted their offense to fit Patterson's strengths) will be most difficult. No cupcake games to get the bugs out. I have ND +2.5 here. But I believe they will get the bugs out of that offense and roll in conference play. Having Wisc. at home and then at Sparty will be tough. A bye after Sparty and then hosting Penn St. helps. Penn St coming off of hosting Iowa and look ahead to Wisc.

Penn St's schedule not too bad. Four very winnable games and then HOSTING Ohio State in a whiteout game. Then they get a bye and host MSU for homecoming. Advantage Penn State. The tough part is at Michigan who is off of bye and then hosting Wisc.

Wisconsin NC schedule is a cakewalk. Then week 4 at Iowa followed by a bye. The play at Mich. (wk7) sandwiched by Neb. and ILL. They play at Penn St (wk11) sandwiched by Rutgers and Purdue. Cannot ask for any better than that!
I should have jumped on their RSW Total over early but I did not. Too much juice for me now at ov 9.5 -180. Still, can't see how they lose 3 games. Did take Wisc. to win Big10 at +250.

Believe injuries or suspensions may determine Big10 conf. winner. If any of the above lose their starting QB, they're toast. Penn St, Wisc., and to a lesser degree tOSU have limited depth at linebacker. Injuries there could hurt. Wisc. already having defensive attrition.

The one thing that bothers me about Ohio State is the coaches and Meyer's situation he just went through.

When Meyer was on paid-leave it was obvious they could not put their most senior coach, Schiano, as acting head coach. After all the uproar at TENN last year that Schiano knew about Sandusky at Penn St. He was TENN's coach for a couple of hours. Next in line by seniority was Kevin Wilson. But he was asked to leave Indiana because of forcing injured players to play amongst other things. So they went with Ryan Day who was brought on before last season. He was "clean". LOL
I wonder how Day and Wilson get along? Wilson was brought in for his offensive genius, how does he feel now that Day seems to be moving ahead of him? Then there's Urban. He has lost all credibility, probably now hates his job, he will hear shit all season long. How is he going to hold up?

I made my RSW bet on OSU before all this crap came out. Still think it will hit, but much more what if's.

Faygo, love the name! Redpop and Rock'n Rye were my favorites. And to all you West Coasters, it's POP, not SODA!!!!

Yeah, my hope for Shea is that he doesn't try to do too much. Stay within your abilities. One thing I saw at Ole Miss is that they had a pitiful running game and passing seemed like their only hope. Not the case here, he should find it easier to succeed.

Go Blue!

rumors coming out that Michigan may have lost their #1 wr for the year. Same kid got hurt in the 3rd or 4th game last year. Would be brutal is true and insanely heartbreaker for the kid. Basically lost the first two seasons of his college career to injury. Hopefully its not as bad as the rumors and he doesn't miss much time.

The big question is can any big ten team contend with the likes of an Alabama in a playoff matchup?
