Somehow between leaving the door of the bank and walking to my car, maybe 40-50 yards away, I had put cash envelope in my pocket and when opened car door realized it wasn't there. Proceeded to run back my steps within 30-40secs to bank nothing on ground and no one else in sight, got attention of bank manager who was nice enough to help retrace my steps and zilch. What are the the odds a good Samaritan returns it? Would a bank have video outside they would actually let me see? As dumb a thing as I've ever done, just needed to vent!face)(*^%

I can't imagine them not having cameras outside the building. Maybe you could check nearby businesses as well to see if they have a camera and caught anything on tape.

I was carrying a laundry basket one time and my wallet fell out of my jacket walking to my car, lost like 1k. This happened in Chicago, strangely my wallet was mailed to my parents house in Missouri from Kansas City like 3 months later with nothing in it except my driver's license. Scared the shit out of my parents as I hadn't talked to them in a couple of weeks at the time.

It's good to vent. I would.

It's cash money. Gone good bye.

Good luck

Buddy told me a story to help ease the pain. After a Saturday night out in Manhattan getting hammered at a bachelor party he dropped his wallet in the backseat of a cab, gets a call Monday morning from a woman who found his wallet and still had his $500 in it she told him to donate half to charity which he did. This happened 25 years ago but maybe there are still some honest people out there.

That really sucks, hope you find it. If not, the pain will subside with time.

I lost my wallet at a UConn game a few years ago. Had $ 750 in it. Same thing, retraced my steps within 90 seconds and it was gone. Some mother fucking low life found it and bolted.

I cancelled everything the next day, a week later I received an envelope with my wallet sans the cash. The person who mailed it said they found it on the street.

No doubt I feel your pain losing the cash, but getting the wallet back saved alot of DMV TRIPS

I found a wallet sometime ago. Had about $200 in it and dropped it off at his home (he was not home). He lived in a very nice home too.

It sounds like it's just cash, no ID or anything else. It's more than likely gone for good.

Nice story VD, happy you got them back

Axel if you want to take it to another level you need to do a police report and have them investigate and get the timestamped footage ...etc..... if they see who it is on camera I'm confident they could trace the person with bank records, teller ...etc...just a suggestion.

Money was somehow stolen - my friend withdrew 4k to pay his employees - left BOA with the envelope - put the envelope on his car seat - drove to his house to get something - ran inside with the car running - was back in his car 30 seconds later - the envelope was gone - he went to BOA - BOA said there are "spotters" outside watching everyone and he was followed - I told him to sue BOA after they admitted they knew this was a problem

I don’t condone theft but who leaves 4K on the front seat of an unlocked running car?

I lost my wallet and several credit cards at of all places a Burger King.... Of course I didn't realize it until the following day..But stopped all Credit card transactions and went to the DMV to get a new liscense.. Within 3 days my wallet was returned to the office where I live..It had less than a 100 bucks , but all was intact... Sometimes I'm amazed at the goodness of people's heart.

Sorry to hear that. That sucks. I dropped a $1000 chip in Lake Tahoe, and one of my affluent clients dropped a $5k chip. I never expected to see mine again, but was surprised he didn't get his back. Casinos won't usually cash a $5k chip unless you have a players card and can show that you won it.

Bank juggers. People watch customers leaving banks with money and then rob them. Big down here.
