Why not just take Woodley inside distance at like +320. I think the entire fight is going to take place standing and really don't see it going the full 5. I have under 4.5 rounds at -125.

I think the reason the line is distorted so much is because both of these guys fought Wonderboy and all 3 of those fights went the distance.

I don't see this fight going the distance regardless of who wins.

I don't have enough plays to captivate the audience so I'm just gonna piggyback off of your thread per usual.

I listened to a podcast that I usually listen to before big fights and it breaks down tactics and they were saying it will be another boring fight because Woodley is too tactical and both fighters are too patient. I really do think that is a result of recent opponents more than style but we'll see. Doesn't seem to be a consensus opinion.

Another thing with Woodley is he has to feel some pressure to push the pace I would think. His last 2 main events he was booed out of the building, he can't just keep winning like that. Another fight like his last 2 and it is going to be very tough to sell anything with him in it going forward. I think the oddsmakers are underestimating that dynamic.

He has more than the title on the line tonight, he has to try and build some commercial appeal I would think. A boring 5 rd decision not going to do that.

I know Covington talks a lot of shit which is good for interest but if Woodley has another performance like he had vs WB/Maia then even in a win, I don't see how he could be the main on a PPV card again. I just don't see how you sell that as champ. He's almost Mighty Mouse territory at that point as far as marketing goes.

Hopefully Till is aggressive when Woodley has that tendency to back up as well. Hard to say, he hasn't fought much top competition and Cerrone was made for his style as his weakness is walking into left hands.

Woodley is getting screwed already tonight. This card is nothing to smile about, and the sells may be weak. Definitely shouldn't be a PPV Card, esp now that the Karolina fight is canceled.

I personally have always liked Covington.

Ya, I like Cov too even if his style isn't great. The more trash talking, the better. You need villains.

Putting a big card on Sept 8th rather than late Aug has always been dumb to me. 2nd week of CFB/1st week of NFL, Canelo/TripleG is next week. It is a deadzone.

I thought McGregor/Diaz and McGregor/Mayweather the last 2 years proved that late August before the fall sports season kicks off is definitely where you should have a big card. I know Woodley isn't even close to the name of those guys, but he'll probably be lucky to do 250k buys tonight with this card. Could see sub 200.

Are you gonna watch Porter/Garcia tonight?

Like Garcia via dec +125 fwiw. Porter will be tough to KO but Garcia composure should help him deal with all of Porter's BS when it comes to headbutting and fighting dirty. And Garcia has more power and is a better boxer.

I guess if Porter tries to push the pace too much then he could get hit hard, but he's never been KO'd. See it going like his losses to Thurman/Brook.

I may if it gets started later. Trying to watch both Clemson and UFC right now...

T Wood knew what he had to do. Just like he said, give him a freestyle fighter and see what happens.

Yep! Wasn’t big on Till anyways. They may build him up some at 185 and let him win a few, but he doesn’t want any of those guys power...

Tripled up on Wood and took your wager as well for decent night. Needed it because I got creamed in CFB.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and opening day of the NFL tomorrow...

Surprised he didn't call GSP out after. Hard to do when you're winning boring 5 round decisions, but that was a ripe opportunity to do so. "I'm the best welterweight of all time and if anyone disagrees, come see me in here. That includes you, Grease Saint Pierre!" And if GSP doesn't wanna do it, well then you can more legitimately claim you are the best if the other guy just won't even fight you.

Instead he's promoting some rap single he has coming out next week. I'm not even sure the venn diagram of people that listen to rap and watch MMA is that big.

Impressive fight by Woodley. I do think he is better than GSP. GSP isn't a fighter anymore. In fact I think the Hendricks fight beat him down. Either that or he was ready to give it up before. Now he is here trying to pick a few fights and take off. He wanted the Bisping fight because he thought that was his easiest path to the 185 title. He's praying Conor wins and he can get a shot because the PPV would sell. I'd much rather see Ferguson. GSPs legacy rests with winning three belts at this point. Woodley actually would do well at 185 considering who is up there. As long as Romero moves up who has the power, wrestling and speed to beat him at 185?

I agree with Pats here, should’ve called out GSP, nonstop try to get that MONEY fight booked, whoop his ass faster than he did Tills, and RETIRE. He’s 36, just got that Black belt, works out of a prestigious ATT charter school, and has nothing else to prove. Enjoy a nice relaxed living Coaching and doing what you love to do...

Who beats Woodley at 185? No one! Well, some up and comer unranked fighter not on the main stage yet. Romero would be a great fight(Romero wins or easily could), and an awesome retirement fight for both, but unfortunately, it just wouldn’t pay enough to be a Money fight. Sucks...

Jokingly, I hope T Woods pee pee isn’t cloudy Post fight with that Wiz Khalifa shout out, lol. Probably is by now, though...
