With sports betting now legal in New Jersey, there are several options available for area football fans interested in placing wager or two this season. Here’s a look:

Monmouth Park

Monmouth Park Racetrack opened the state’s first sportsbook on June 14 and spent the past few years investing millions of dollars to convert a cafeteria into the William Hill Race & Sports Bar. The well-reviewed facility has 22 betting windows, more than 50 TVs and hundreds of seats — expansion into the grandstand could increase capacity up to 7,500 — as well as a 75-foot wide, 8-foot tall video board.

Hours
Monday-Thursday: 10 a.m.-1 a.m.
Friday: 10 a.m.-2 a.m.
Saturday: 7:30 a.m.-2 a.m.
Sunday: 7:30 a.m.-1 a.m.

Meadowlands Racetrack

The closest option to New York, which isn’t expected to legalize its own sportsbooks until 2019, at the earliest. Located a few punts away from MetLife Stadium, the FanDuel Sportsbook opened July 14 with a 5,300-square-foot setup, and has recently expanded into a new sports lounge, which will house 15 cashiers and 65 TVs and remain open until all live U.S. games have concluded.

If you’re traveling without a car, plan on leaving extra time. The 160 bus line from Port Authority Bus Terminal is an option, but NJ Transit trains from Penn Station still only run during major events.

Hours

Mondays-Thursdays: 10 a.m.-1 a.m.
Fridays: 10 a.m.-2 a.m.
Saturdays: 7 a.m.-2 a.m.
Sundays: 8 a.m.-1 a.m.

Borgata

Located in Atlantic City’s marina district, the Race & Sports Book is a non-smoking venue, with 10 betting windows and 100 individual seats, each equipped with flat-screen monitors for players. A larger $7 million facility is being planned to replace the temporary sportsbook, which opens daily at 11 a.m.

Ocean Resort Casino

This boardwalk hotel opened June 28 — on the site of the former Revel casino — and built a 7,500-square-foot sports book in the middle of the casino floor, which offers in-game betting. Also partnered with William Hill, the sportsbook features a “$1,000,000” Gridiron Challenge,” which asks bettors to make weekly NFL picks and awards 10 players $500 in Bonus Plays each week and five players $5,000 in Bonus Plays at the end of the season. If someone makes at least 193 out of 233 correct picks, they will win $1,000,000.

The sportsbook is open daily from 9 a.m. to midnight.

Resorts Atlantic City

New Jersey’s first casino hotel opened its sportsbook on Aug. 15 and features a temporary setup with six betting windows, four self-service kiosks and a 12-foot video wall with 15 television screens. A larger sportsbook is being planned to replace the temporary facility, which is open daily from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Golden Nugget

Another marina district hotel, the Golden Nugget opened a temporary sportsbook on Aug. 15, and is open from 10 a.m. to midnight. Come NBA season, you’ll have to bet somewhere else, though, because casino owner Tilman Fertitta’s ownership of the Houston Rockets prohibits the property from taking NBA bets.

Bally’s

Located in the Wild Wild West casino, the 8,190-square-foot temporary space opened on July 30. Players can watch on three large TVs — and five smaller ones — from 30 leather chairs or multiple high-top tables. The sportsbook opens daily at 11 a.m., and closes at either 11:30 p.m. or midnight.

Harrah’s

The marina district sportsbook has a similar temporary setup to Bally’s — with the same betting lines and hours — as both are owned by Caesars Entertainment. Mobile gaming is also in the work for the sister sites.

DraftKings Sportsbook

The fantasy sports site became the first to fully launch a sports betting app on Aug. 6 and offers in-game betting. Bets can be made 24 hours a day, but players must be in New Jersey when placing action.

playMGM

Similar to DraftKings, except this app is currently only available for Android phones.

SugarHouse Sportsbook

The latest app — also available online — offers a unique feature, which allows players to cash out an active bet before the outcome is decided, enabling someone to cut their losses or claim a fraction of their maximum payout.

Except when there is an event at the field. On Sunday morning they told me I had to park outside and shuttle in to use the book.

I turned around and went home.

I went Saturday. Made a college bet. And i knew i wasn`t coming on Sunday with the Giants game so i put my NFL bets in at that time. Now i`m going there today to collect and put in a few bets.

One thing about the Meadowlands,i don`t like sitting in there and watching the game. I don`t like the setting. Monmouth is a different story. I can sit and watch the whole game.

I got there on Saturday at 3:00. Made a bet on Colorado 3:30 start.

I went in the parking lot sat in my car and watched the whole game on my phone....LOL

Smoked a bunch of cigs and had a good time all by myself.

Went back in cashed out and made some NFL bets and i was gone.

The Meadowlands has a eating section.

$20.00 minimum to sit in that section.

I tried sitting there i day in the beginning and she told me $20.00 minimum. I made a big deal about it. I just spent $200.00 on a bet and your telling me i have to buy food. I wasn`t happy with that shit.

Also they have another section called the VIP section.

And the bar.

You have no place to sit.

Monmouth no problem. Plenty of seating. No hassles no bullshit

I sit upstairs at the bar and never had a problem but I also haven’t been in there during games either.

If you have FD app and look under daily promotion. Gurley is even money to score tonight, the true odds on that are closer to -170 and the two favs parlayed is at +150. The true odds on that are closer to even money.

It's only a hundred max but get it while it is good. They're not gonna do that forever.

Golden Nugget is a close 2nd

Harrah's is a little small but accommodating

Bally's /Willd west and Resorts also limited right now (will wait to see the expansion!)

Borgata is a joke right now -sharing the room with the only race book in the city Things all always to crowed and lines all the time.......

888 sport went live on Monday online at us.888sport.com. It is powered by Kambi. What I didn't know is they also power DraftKings and Sugarhouse and apparently have the same lines. I will have to look at the Draftkings and Sugarhouse lines to confirm this. 888holdings is partnered under the Caesars license. Up to $500 deposit bonus with a 6xrollover requirement. Not as good as the others but it is for a higher amount.
