In an ESPN article published two weeks ago, Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey questioned Rob Gronkowski's greatness and indicated that he has struggled when covered by cornerbacks.

On Wednesday, the New England Patriots tight end responded.

"I mean, if that's how he feels, that's how he feels," Gronkowski said in a news conference ahead of Sunday's meeting between the two teams. "It's a big game this Sunday. We're playing them. I'm sure I'm going to have opportunities to go versus him. I'm sure he's going to have opportunities to go versus me. So I'm just preparing like I always prepare. I've got to just do my job out on the field and just worry about that."

Ramsey told ESPN in a story published Aug. 30 that "I don't think Gronk's good" before revising his stance to clarify that he doesn't believe four-time All-Pro is "as great as people think he is." Ramsey told the network that when Gronkowski is matched up against a corner, he tends to struggle — and the opposing cornerback tends to play well.

Though Gronkowski largely sidestepped questions about Ramsey on Wednesday, saying at one point that the two players haven't spoken about Ramsey's comments because they don't have one another's phone numbers, Gronkowski did admit that the cornerback's comments could serve as motivation.

"For sure. There's always motivation you're looking for," Gronkowski told reporters. "Obviously, there's something out there that he saw on film and stuff that I can probably get better at football in some certain categories. You don't always feel the best every single day when you're out on the field, so if that's how he feels, that's how he feels."

Gronkowski hauled in seven passes for 123 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' Week 1 win against the Houston Texans.

The Jags won't use single coverage on Gronk.

They'll shadow him with a 2nd player & then boast about it if they have success with it...

NE D is improved I think. Especially in the front 7.

Lacking guys to throw the ball to but I think they get it done @ JVille.

I love it when the Pats have a chip on their shoulder, I think they have one this week, and it's not just the trash talk about Gronk

Changing of the guard, Jags going to get revenge, Jags have this game circled, Jags "should" have beat them in the playoffs, game now a pick and Gronk is overrated

Gronk scores one or two TD's this week, 80+ yards

ODJ was open a lot vs Ramsey last week.

Can't say that Gronk is overrated, he has a hard time staying healthy though.

I don't have bias in sports betting at all. I wish I did though, I'd be up even more on NE games over the years then I already am if I just bet them blindly.

I've said in other threads before the season that I'm not as high on JVille as others. So it is a combination of factors.

Jacksonville is a good narrative. Tough to go against Bill vs a predictable offense, with or without Fournette.

50 year pats fan here and I don’t think they have a shot this week, but then I didn’t they had a chance in the championship game either. If idiot coach doesn’t sit on ball at end of first half, they score again and go to the super bowl. Amazingly bad co@ching decision.

Just don't bet against them too often my friend, that's as silly as betting against the Tide

I think Jax is the right pick. They might take it to Patriots. I want to bet it but just can't. I won't. I can't bet against Patriots. Not a smart bet trying to pick the 1 game out of the 2 or 3 they might lose all season. Having said that, I do believe this would be the best bet to go against them. I just can't do it. I will watch for entertainment's sake though.

You contradicted yourself at least 10 times.

Bunch of riddles.

Ramsey evaluates everyone.

Hopefully Gronk spikes 1 in his face
