Being a loyal Giants fan for the last 55 years, at least I can say it’s not the worst situation I’ve seen the Giants in lol. Although I do think as good as Barkley is, the Giants made a mistake drafting him instead of one of the good young QBs available. The Giants have lots of young talent right now and despite the pics and remarks above, Eli is still a good leader for this team. But right now, based on the first 2 games, he is lacking the talent to go with that leadership, to make this team competitive.
As a Giants fan I did say...Why are you picking a RB when we have 38 year old QB who is at the end of the line.

From what I’ve read(I’m not a huge college football fan), the QB talent from this years draft was tons better than what might or is suppose be there next year. But, you never know, it’s always possible they can repeat what they did in 1979 when they took some guy from Morehead St. that most Giants fans never heard of and that worked out pretty good so I never give up on them.
Although I don't necessarily disagree with you BAS as Eli's best years are behind him, I do think the comment might be a bit harsh considering the Giants have one of the worst offensive lines in the league. Dallas sacked him 6 times last night and he was hurried or hit on most of the plays. No one is going to do well behind that line. Shy of maybe the Bills, can you point to one line that is worse than the Giants? Beckham and Barkley will not be ranked in the top 10 in their respective categories when this year is over. Mark my words.
