According to News 12 New Jersey, a Newark man says that a FanDuel Sportsbook won’t pay out a large bet that he won on Sunday.

Anthony Prince says that he bet on the Denver Broncos to beat the Oakland Raiders with one minute and 10 seconds left in the game, when the Raiders were up 19-17.

Prince says he put $110 down at a plus-75,000 bet, which means if he won, there would be a payout of $82,610.

On their last drive, the Broncos kicked a game-winning field goal to win 20-19, but when Prince went up to the window to collect his winnings, he said that the teller would not pay out his winnings.

“They said their system had a glitch in it and they’re not obligated to pay for glitches,” Prince said.

Instead, Prince says he was offered $500 and skybox seats for three New York Giants games, but he declined.

“The other guy said, ‘You should take what we give you because we don’t have to give you (anything) at all.’ I said, ‘Wow, for real?’” Prince says.

According to a spokesperson for FanDuel, the company is currently investigating the matter.

“The government is taxing it now so I thought it would be a better situation. You’d rather go to the corner bookies now. You’re not getting paid here,” Prince said. He also mentioned that he plans on getting an attorney involved and will also contact the New Jersey Division of Gaming to file a complaint.

He thinks he is right but he isn't. Them saying they don't have to pay him anything is dumb though. Of course they were willing to give him the 5/1 odds which is fair. If he thinks it is not he is just being an idiot.

Lmao@ +75,000 when the team is down only by 2.......heck yeah it was a glitch! But they also shouldn't have said we don't have to pay you anything, that's the wrong way to treat the customer.....they should have taken him back to an office & explain the logic behind the glitch.

He may take it to court, but he won't win, it will be thrown out.

this guy is a newbie better...has to be. any 2 point game with +7500 odds is clearly an error. he shoulda taken the offer and been happy but it does suck.

The only question is if he had lost and found out the actual odds is he owed the money back? Maybe he was only willing to risk the money with such high odds? And if it is the books fault, does he deserve the money back. Of course the other side is, it is obviously incorrect at such high odds.

Might see +750 at that time in game, no way +75000. "Glitch" is a term all corporate businesses use in their favor, pricing on floor, computer glitch etc.

Glitch is not the right term.

Someone posted the line wrong.

And for that, they should lose their job for the mess it causes.

I always have mixed opinions in cases like this.

Yes this was clearly a bad line. (Sometimes it's borderline when a book claims this)

However, it was offered to bettors, correct?.

Is it the customers' responsibility to get the lines right?

No, we just bet what is presented to us.

Do you know what some stores do if they accidentally put a $4.99 sticker on something that is supposed to be $49.99?

They honor it & give it to you for the price mistakenly advertised.

I catch heat from this theory at times but you have to look at it from both sides.

+75,000 is just plain stupid, he should know better

It's obviously a glitch

I don't think it would even be +750, but that may have been what was intended

Now if they were down 22 points with that much time, now that's a different story

Guy makes a good point at the end.

Regardless not the news you want for something that's just getting started.

You can bet your azz Feds will see & hear this story & no matter if the book is right about this, it brings attention to it all & here comes federal legislation.

And I still can't stand the fact that Fanduel and DrafKings are reaping the reward of offering sports betting when both of them cried & argued for years that were in no way associated with it while offering fantasy!

When the judge sees the ticket says $82,000.

What's fan duels defense in court?

It was a glitch...lol

He can easily win the case.

Stay tuned!

I don't know, I don't think he has any chance. I say this because of the precedent established by casinos' and slot machines. They don't pay jackpots when there was a glitch, and there's no chance the person playing the machine should know there's a glitch

But I hope you're right :)

+ he made the bet with only 70 seconds to go in the game....so maybe he thought that was the reason the odds were so high

I hear ya.

How do you prove a glitch though?

He has the ticket. Not counterfeit. Bought from a fan duel cashier.

We'll see what happens down the road.

some lady won 43 million on a slot machine and was offered a steak dinner because of a glitch. this dude shoulda taken the $500 and left it there. there is some fine print somewhere which protects the book. he may have a reasonable complaint but nothing more and the books wont pay him out, maybe settle so they look good in the public eye but even at that i wonder what they open themselves up to .
