The noise surrounding a potential partnership between Kevin Durant and LeBron James is only growing.

Brandon 'Scoop B' Robinson reported on Monday that Kevin Durant is 'planning' to move to the Lakers and join LeBron James.

Spoke to a source today who confirmed Kevin Durant will be a LA Laker next year.

“Just like LeBron planned his move LA a year or more earlier, #KD is doing the same right now. They want to form the best duo in the NBA and set up KD to be the face of the Lakers post-#LeBron.”

This is not the first time we've heard this as a possibility as Stephen A. Smith suggested that James was lobbying Durant to opt out this season and join him on the Lakers.

While the Lakers decision to waive Luol Deng saved them money but also made it nearly impossible for a Jimmy Butler trade, but Deng also waiving over seven million dollars will allow them to pursue Durant in free agency.

There have been plenty of voices to the contrary, suggesting the partnership won't work or that Durant has his eyes on another big market such as New York. But there has also been just as much smoke surrounding the situation.

At this time last year, the rumor mill was pointing to Paul George in a Lakers uniform before he eventually signed a long-term deal to stay in Oklahoma City. At the same time, the LeBron-to-Lakers rumors had about a two-year build up before it actually happened.

It appears that there is a concerted effort from at least one side to make this look like a potential partnership next season in purple and gold. But as we've seen too many times in the NBA, every day is a new day.

I'm getting sick of today's NBA. It's as if they have an unspoken agreement nowadays. Fuck the fans and competition and let's just get paid and party and play ball together. Help each other win championships jumping from team to team and all that.

I miss the good old days of real competition and when stars wanted to beat the next best guy as much as winning the title. Jordan's era.

I don't know man. Rumor or not it bugs me.

P.S Kevin Durant is a bitch.

I stopped watching the NBA a long time ago, also I hardly wager on it as well, lucky if I make a dozen wagers per season

now if they brought back action points, that's another story. Still wouldn't watch it though

Man I don't blame you. I just can't quit watching because I just love basketball too much.

Betting wise it's (imo) the toughest sport to bet. Never know about their effort level on any given night. The way refs will call fouls (that's in any sport for refs I know) and one game they will dribble out the clock instead of fouling and another in the same exact situation they will foul till the bitter end haha. So many frustrating things about the NBA.

I sound like a broken record but I miss the good ole days where they went at it hard and took games seriously even in the regular season. Micheal Jordan? Sir Charles? Reggie Miller? That Knicks team and all those guys? List goes on and on. Man. Back then they were motivated I guess. Had to prove they can play before they got paid. Nowadays these guys are getting paid absurd amounts of money before they even do anything. That'll take much of the fire away for sure lol.

The NBA players today have figured it out. Why break their backs and bust themselves up trying hard, when they are getting paid millions, beautiful girls on the sides, go to new cities on the road, hit the clubs, do some girls, who has any intensity left for the game? I see it. When they show up you can tell they are complacent and don't care. Too much money.

Wow I ranted on. Time to crash. It's late. Gnite BAS, gnite all.

I miss the Magic/Bird era....today’s players are much too selfish.....

The NBA has its moments still but for the most part it is unwatchable....

Could say the same about the NHL today. Refs/powerplays decide the game. Rule changes have affected the NHL too. They just want more scoring and limiting the defense. I can't stop watching the NHL or the NBA even though it's almost become Harlem Globetrotters on the court...and on the ice.

Meh. I love sports too much. I will continue to watch every pro sports league.
