Gee, why would there people who thought this was a bad idea?:think2:Loser!@#0[h=1]President Trump walks back order to declassify DOJ docs related to Russia probe — says inspector general will review request on 'expedited basis'[/h]
President Trump reversed course Friday on his request to declassify and release reams of unredacted Justice Department documents related to the federal Russia probe.

Trump backpedaled less than four days after he demanded the DOJ downgrade the classification on the trove of documents and text messages because “key allies” raised concerns.

It was not immediately clear which allies had reached out to Trump about the documents.

The President also acknowledged that Justice officials worried that making the papers public could have a "perceived negative impact" on special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian election interference.

“I met with the DOJ concerning the declassification of various UNREDACTED documents. They agreed to release them but stated that so doing may have a perceived negative impact on the Russia probe. Also, key Allies’ called to ask not to release,” Trump tweeted. “Therefore, the Inspector General has been asked to review these documents on an expedited basis.”

The White House had said on Monday that Trump had unilaterally ordered the release of selective documents related to portions of the FBI’s application to monitor former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page.

Critics cast the call to make the information public as an attempt to discredit the Mueller investigation, which Trump has repeatedly called a “witch hunt.” Mueller is looking at whether Trump campaign officials coordinated with the Kremlin to sway the election in the President’s favor.

Trump and a handful of Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill have claimed that a cabal of anti-Trump officials in the top ranks of the Justice Department and the FBI wrongfully requested the application to watch Page.

Heavily redacted portions of the 2016 application were made public in July, indicating that the FBI “believes Page has been the subject of targeted recruitment by the Russian government.”

The warrant that was issued was renewed multiple times, leading Trump supporter and chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) to accuse the FBI of abusing its surveillance powers.

Democrats have argued that the surveillance of Page was justified due to his repeated contacts with Russia, and they argue that the FBI and Justice Department followed proper procedure.

The President has asked DOJ to release "all text messages" related to the Russia probe, including those from former FBI Director James Comey and a handful of current and former officials who conservatives have accused of exhibiting political bias against Trump.

Adding a hint of mystique to his walk back, Trump maintained that he could declassify the documents unilaterally “if it proves necessary.”

“Speed is very important to me - and everyone!” he tweeted.

As far as whether the original order format was a "threat," I'll take the word of the Justice Department and "key allies" over an uninformed, lying moron who is too stupid to discern the difference between releasing something immediately, unredacted, and releasing it later.

It's hilarious how you and that other chimp get your clocks cleaned, and suddenly wanna discus ANYTHING but that inconvenient fact, such as, you running your big, dumb mouth for MONTHS about how flimsy Mueller's case was against Manafort. So, what happens? Paulie Numbnuts is eventually charged with EIGHTEEN FELONIES, and ultimately is found GUILTY, OR PLEADS GUILTY, TO EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE EIGHTEEN CHARGES. But YOU don't have shit to say, because you're a moronic, gutless turd who disappears like a fart in the wind when he is exposed-which, of course, is often, and THIS thread is just the latest example is of same: you claimed, not long ago, to not have the slightest interest in ANYTHING I have to say, yet, here you are, proving yourself to a be a psychotic liar(not unlike a certain boulder headed runt and a 90,000 post loser who infest this forum), by entering a thread that I started, giving your worthless opinion, and, oh, btw, TOTALLY ignoring the subject matter, namely, a Republican sack of shit who just suffered the humiliation of a half dozen close relatives stampeding to, not just speak poorly of him, but, eagerly making a commercial endorsing his opponent!!! It doesn't GET any better than that, lol. Pound sand, Witless Willie.kth)(&^Loser!@#0Slapping-silly90))azzkick(&^^^:):madasshol:bigfinger:trx-smly0:tongue2::Countdown:fckmad:
