I definitely got TB & WAS all wrong, however DEN underperformed esp on “O” to torpedo yet another POW for me. W/DEN’s commitment to the run gm, Keenum’s lack of getting the ball to his #1 WR Sanders boggled me against one of the worst scoring “D”s in the league. I realize Keenum is an overrated QB, but it’s so hard not to be successful w/such balance on “O”. I apologize to everyone that’s been unfortunate enough to tail my POWs. But again, this is a marathon, not a sprint, so I expect to rattle off a win streak sometime (hopefully sooner rather than later).
Regular Season POW 0-2, Teasers 1-1, GOY 0-0, Overall 4-7.
KC -6 is off to a blazing start behind 2[SUP]nd[/SUP]yr man Mahomes. Surrounded by incredible weapons, the young QB is slinging the football all over the field, making “D”s unable to focus on any area. KC hasn’t even tapped into last yr’s rushing leader Kareem Hunt, so their “O” amazingly can still improve. This is a very fortunate thing too, because their “D” is the worst in the NFL. This may be a result of scoring so much so early that opposing teams have had to abandon the run gm & simply air it out. And the last 2 QBs they’ve faced (Ben & Rivers) can certainly do that. Enter Jimmy G & the Niners. Most can understand SF’s struggles @ MIN in the opener, but against a hapless DET team, Garappolo got sacked 6 times en route to a 3 pt win @ hm. Now they’re on the rd in Mahomes 1[SUP]st[/SUP]start this season @ Arrowhead. The crowd will be LOUD. It would be easy to blame SF’s woes on the oline, but Garappolo is holding onto the ball way too long. This is from his time in NE, where Belicheat expects perfection from his blockers, so there’s rarely QB pressure. If KC can keep Matt Breida from rattling off homeruns (KC 10[SUP]th[/SUP]worse @ 4.5 ypc), this shouldn’t be close. Combine all that w/one of the loudest stadiums in the league, & I fully expect SF’s “O” to be held just enough in check while KC continues their “O” slaughterfest.
