Trump Will Order FBI Probe Into Kavanaugh: CNN

Sept. 28, 2018, at 4:53 p.m.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump will order the FBI to conduct an investigation into allegations facing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, CNN reported on Friday, citing a White House official.

Earlier on Friday the Senate Judiciary Committee said it would ask Trump to initiate a supplemental background investigation into "current credible allegations" against Kavanaugh, limited to a week.

Awesome, just to prove the assholes are assholes and to clear his nominee's name

Of course, it won't matter to the fucking idiots of this world, but nobody is trying to reach them anyhow

And... Whats the point?

If/When the FBI find nothing there after the investigation, are the Democrats going to vote him in?

Name me 1 (one) single Democrat calling for this investigation who will vote YES, when its found there is nothing to collaborate her claims.

IF you cant name one, and IF not 1 single Democrat changes their vote... Whats their true intention of asking for a delay and investigation.

(Insults, deflection and ignoring of these questions will commence, emoji's are also highly likely to occur)

Taking the high road, showing the nominee has nothing to hide, I already said nobody's trying to reach the fucking idiots that can't be reached

Richard KijewskiI heard that the FBI will be looking somewhere in Maryland...they are not sure how many agents will be assigned or how they will be getting there...or even how they will be getting back to DC...if that's even where they are coming from...they may be looking for smaller streets or some avenues...but the agents only drive when they go on vacation...they will be drinking Coke! Definitely Coke...unless maybe they can get a Pepsi...but only a diet...but YES...a Coke...possibly...

Trump dismisses FBI investigation as open and shut by tweeting Kavanaugh WILL be 'a truly great Justice of the Supreme Court' hours after Senate showdown forced him to order new probe

The President tweeted at 8.30pm: 'Just started, tonight, our 7th FBI investigation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh. He will someday be recognized as a truly great Justice of The United States Supreme Court!' Kavanaugh will be investigated by the FBI over allegations he sexually assaulted Christine Ford after a sensational twist Friday in the Senate as two key Republicans said their votes for him depended on a probe. Trump ordered the 'supplemental investigation' into his Supreme Court nominee at 5pm on Friday, with the White House saying it must be 'limited in scope', while Senate Republicans said it would take 'up to' a week.

[h=2]Trump dismisses FBI investigation as open and shut by tweeting Kavanaugh WILL be 'a truly great Justice of the Supreme Court' hours after Senate showdown forced him to order new probe[/h]
  • In a day of drama, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted 11-10 to advance Kavanaugh's nomination
  • Jeff Flake, the key Republican moderate, said he would only vote 'yes' with a guarantee of an FBI probe
  • Leading Democrats agreed to the week-long time frame of a probe and the Senate Judiciary Committee has requested an investigation into 'current, credible' allegations
  • But request does not precisely define whose allegations are both current and credible - meaning it is unclear if they include Debbie Ramirez, who claims he exposed himself, and Julie Swetnick, who alleges gang rape
  • Flake negotiated with Democrats after getting dramatically confronted by activists and revealing he had the support of GOP moderate Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and red state Democrat Joe Manchin (W. Virginia)
  • At the White House Trump signaled his backing, saying he would let the Senate handle the issue
  • President also called Kavanaugh's accuser Christine Ford's testimony 'very compelling' and 'credible'
  • On Friday night, he tweeted: 'Just started, tonight, our 7th FBI investigation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh. He will someday be recognized as a truly great Justice of The United States Supreme Court!'
  • Mark Judge, an alleged witness, said he is willing to cooperate with law enforcement
  • Kavanaugh needs 50 votes from Senate to gain nomination - the Senate has 51 Republicans, 49 Democrats
  • Moderate Democrat Doug Jones already revealed Thursday he believed Christine Ford and would vote no

Key moment: A woman who said she is a survivor of a sexual assault (R) confronts Republican Senator from Arizona Jeff Flake (L) in an elevator

At 9.30am he announced he would vote for Kavanaugh - then a minute later walked into a Senate elevator and was confronted by two protesters who told him they were sex abuse victims who wanted him to vote 'no'.
At 1.30pm Senate Judiciary Committee vote was delayed as Flake spent time with Democrats - and then a dramatic deal unfolded.
Flake voted Kavanaugh through the Senate Judiciary Committee in return for asking for the probe, and told colleagues he had the support of at least two key votes, Republican senator Lisa Murkowski and Democrat Joe Manchin.
John Cornyn, the second most senior Republican in the Senate, said the investigation would happen and take up to a week.
The Senate Judiciary Committee formally asked for the FBI probe into 'current credible allegations' against Kavanaugh on Friday afternoon, after voting for Kavanaugh to go to a full floor vote with Flake's caveat.
The phrase still fails to make clear whether all three women who have publicly accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault - Ford, Debbie Ramirez, and Julie Swetnick - will have their claims investigated.
'The supplemental FBI background investigation would be limited to current credible allegations against the nominee and must be completed no later than one week from today,' according to the committee.
