Last year they had a thread about this every week.

Where is it ?

Why aren’t we getting weekly updates about the demise of NFL football this season?

[h=1]‘Sunday Night Football’ Ratings Hit Season Low As Baltimore Ravens Rip Steelers[/h]
In a 26-14 win on SNF, the Ravens are now 3-1 this season and the Keystone State team is near the bottom of the AFC North. The game in Pittsburgh on Sunday also saw another type of bottoming out in the ratings for the league and the NFL, as the primetime Week 4 matchup drew a 12.3/21 in metered-market results to hit a season low.

The early number is down 10% from the Detroit Lions’ easy win over the New England Patriots last week.

However, compared to the near season low of the comparative Week 4 game last year, the metered markets for last night’s SNF is up 12%. A year ago, the Seattle Seahawks blew out the Indianapolis Colts on October 1, 2017 — the day of the tragic mass shooting at a country music festival in Las Vegas.

Last year’s Week 4 game went on to earn 16.7 million viewers and a 5.8/21 rating among adults 18-49 in the final numbers. Last week’s SNF scored a 6.4/25 in the key demo and 19.5 million sets of eyeballs.
With all that, as one would expect from a night of NFL, NBC won Sunday’s primetime yesterday — cause sometimes you fly and sometimes you flock

We’ll update with more SNF numbers as we get them, plus the very timely 60 Minutes season debut and the rest of what was on the Big 4 last night. Until then, here’s a couple of stats for you: Last night’s game was the top metered-market rating in Week 4 for SNF since 2015 when the New Orleans Saints beat the big-draw Dallas Cowboys in overtime. Also, last night’s SNF peaked in the second-quarter time slot of 9:15-9:30 PM ET with a 13.3/22.

Here are the top 10 local markets for the Ravens’ pecking of those Steelers:

1. Pittsburgh 42.7/60
2. Baltimore 32.3/49
3. Washington D.C. 19.1/34
4. New Orleans 19.0/26
5. Norfolk 18.1/29
6. Richmond 16.1/25
7. Denver 16.0/28
8. Cincinnati 15.9/25
9. Columbus 15.4/26
10. Nashville 14.9/23

NFL is winning...as usual. They didn't fall for Trump's petty games. Divide and conquer didn't work with the NFL. The NFL beats Trump yet again. Don't worry about them kneeling or not, they are standing united. NFL PREVAILS OVER TRUMPS AGAIN LOL.

Fuck CK, that has nothing to do with it and the guy's a bum. He has no game.

Way to go NFL!

Trump loses to the NFL, goes bankrupt many times and he's sell trying to fancy himself a smart businessman lol. Delusional people will say, (just as Trump says, bankruptcy is a legal way out! IT SURE IS AND TRUMP HAS PROUDLY TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF THAT WAY OUT MANY TIMES AND SHOWN OFF ABOUT IT LOL)

I'm glad the players stopped kneeling. If they didn't THEN Trump would've won because he would've divided the NFL from it's fans and the players and owners from one another. They can continue the just fight off the field. That's all I wanted. For the NFL to be pure again of politics. I agree with Kap's fight and protests just not on the field.

The players continue to get paid millions as they do what they love and the fans are happy and the NFL winning as usual. Trump's divide and conquer did not work and republicants will try to spin it as usual, as a win for them but only ones winning are the NFL and it's players.

Amen.

Chop, as a Saints fan wish your team the best. They have the qb and offense to make noise. Just need to figure out that defense. But then what else is new in New Orleans lol.

according to Collin Cowerd, NFL ratings are up, and it's because the no roughing the passer calls. His opinion is that QB's are stars, and since there are less injuries people want to watch. He pointed out that the 49ers game rating will now go down.

I like Colin but to suggest NFL ratings are up because of a no roughing the passer rule is plain silly.

He makes good point though on it. And I think the point is more why the NFL has done it. People tune in to see Brady vs Rodgers, star quarter back vs star quarterback. When one of the star QB's is hurt people don't watch it. He pointed out that all the ratings were up except the 49ers game.

but it is silly because I have NEVER said I am about to watch an NFL game but then changed my mind because the starting QB was injured. I would think all sports fans are the same.

Another point....take Mahomes for example. He seems to be the latest rage and fan favorite in his limited time in the NFL. If he were the back up behind a star QB that never got hurt, these same fans may have waited years to see him play.

Mahomes is a star QB now though, and I bet more people are watching KC games now too. So you kind of made the point in your example. If he gets hurt no one is watching KC.

but the point is that it works BOTH ways.

It does go both ways but it's heavily weighted on one side. If QB's are a huge reason why people watch there is far more upside to eliminating QB injuries, than there is for a downside of back up QB's not getting a chance to be stars because of a lack of injuries.

we must be talking about "pink hats" then because of the true sports fans I know, no one decides to have interest based on injuries, but of course I understand your point. If there are more "pink hats" then true football fans, then I guess you may be correct.

Plus the public, love them or hate them, especially the millennial market want to see high scoring games, with lots of passing. And it's not the just the millennial market, the betting public wants this too. Just look at how bettors love to bet overs. I hate overs, and maybe you are like me, I love betting unders, which is one of the reasons Hockey is my favorite sport, but the general public they don't want that, and the NFL is just giving people what they want.

WTF "I agree with Kap's fight and protests just not on the field." I don't agree with Kap's fight and frankly if you ever listened to what he said he is fucking clueless. Praising the Cuban healthcare system? Che Guevera? What does he know about oppression? You mean the real fact that blacks commit violent crimes, including murder and rape at exponentially higher rates than the rest of the population? That a police officer, white or black, is at a much greater risk of being killed by a black person? That the majority of murders that no one talks about is black on black crime? The NFL chose to allow this garbage and wouldn't allow any other speech and then they lost control of it. I do agree with one point, keep politics out of sports.
