Megyn Kelly has fired up on Twitter saying the notion that every woman who alleges sexual harassment has to be believed is 'absurd' following the claims made by a third Brett Kavanaugh accuser.
The NBC host's argument came after Julie Swetnick became the most recent woman to come forward accusing Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct.
Swetnick released a sworn statement through her attorney this past week in which she says she witnessed Kavanaugh 'consistently engage in excessive drinking and inappropriate contact of a sexual nature with women in the early 1980s.'

She also said she was sexually assaulted at a party attended by members of Kavanaugh's social circle, but did not accuse him of assaulting her.
Kelly hit out on Monday night at Swetnick's claims after the NBC was accused by critics of protecting the 'male misogynistic culture' in the US.
'Due process is not misogynistic. It happens to be the bedrock of our legal system. Ms. Swetnick was just on NBC changing her story dramatically from her sworn declaration. When an accuser has credibility issues, the (answer) is not to shame those who recognize it,' Kelly tweeted.
In that tweet, Kelly was referring to Swetnick's sit-down interview with NBC during which some of her claims differed from her sworn statement.
Kelly also referenced her own experience with sexual harassment after a critic questioned whether it meant a lot to her that she was believed when she spoke up against FOX News President Roger Ailes.

'I knew I might not be. But my company's attnys examined the evidence, which in my case included contemporaneous journal entries (which I gave), consultation w/an attny, a report to a supervisor, stmts to friends, and a slew of other women w/highly credible allegations,' she said.
'Not every victim will have that kind of record, which is fine, but the notion that *every* woman must be believed is absurd. Just ask the 3 Duke lax players who were falsely accused of rape by a woman who virtually all of the media believed but who made the whole thing up.'
Since Swetnick's allegations came to light, it has emerged she has an extensive history of involvement in legal disputes, including a lawsuit in which an ex-employer accused her of falsifying her college and work history on her job application.
Court records reviewed by The Associated Press show Swetnick has been involved in at least six legal cases over the past 25 years.

Along with the lawsuit filed by a former employer in November 2000, the cases include a personal injury suit she filed in 1994 against the Washington, D.C., regional transit authority.
Her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, said the court cases involving her have no bearing on the credibility of her claims about Kavanaugh.
Avenatti said the suit from her ex-employer - it was dismissed a month after it was filed - was 'completely bogus, which is why it was dismissed almost immediately.'
He said he 'fully vetted' Swetnick before helping her take her claims against Kavanaugh public.
Two other women - Dr Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez - have publicly accused Kavanaugh of sexually abusing them.
Kavanaugh has denied the claims regarding him made by Swetnick and other women, characterizing some of the allegations as a 'joke' and a 'farce.'
