Good question. Davies pitched after Chacin last week, but his outing wasn't great. As good as their pen has been, I'd expect to see them a lot no matter what.

Going to their bullpen for a start. I really don't understand this trend, especially if you haven't played this way all year and you're putting players into situations they haven't experienced before (or recently).

Dance with the date that brought you to the dance to begin with, don't start overthinking this stuff now.

I agree with this. However, playoff pitching is different. You use one of you starters as a reliever and when you are ahead or the game is close you tend to use only 3 pitchers. One of those often being a starter. But you should just take your starter and let him go at few inning and progress from there. The Yankees did it last night. Severino only pitched 4 I believe. In the regular season you can't do that because there is 162 games and nine or more innings. You can't overuse your best pitchers for that long. Playoffs you kind of can. After Severino they moved on and took the situation as it came. The problem with a bulpen day is the more pitchers you use the more chance someone will have a bad outing. If you have a starting pitcher go lon. If he has good stuff you are good for most of the game. Use 4,5,6,7 guys. what are the odds 1,2 or even more have a bad day?

Great answer. They were saying the same thing last night about using the pen and having 1 or 2 guys with a bad day

Hearing Brandon Woodruff. Not a horrible choice as he does have 4 starts this year and throws hard. Maybe sneak 4 or 5 out of him

He is one they can probably get away with starting, because of his experience.... and I like the Brew crew today.... But this isn't a winning formula that has been tested.. Yes Severino and 4 innings for the Yankees works.

Severino had pitched over 90 pitches, and the 4th inning was his roughest. It's the pitch count that limited him to 4 innings, I'm sure Boone would of liked for him to go longer

I'm taking a flyer on the Rockies because of this decision, I think chemistry is important and I don't like fucking around with things this time of the year.

Now if TB did this, that's different, they've been doing it all year

To me in baseball no position is more of a creature of habit than a STARTING pitcher..... Since Woodruff has 4 starts, i gave him a little plus there, but the biggest factor...The Brewers have won 8 straight games... Good luck to all.
