Sportsbook balance vs bank/balance

Do you guys find it's easier to spend money when it's a number on a sportsbook? I mean it's like it's just tokens to me or something. I won huge a week ago (posted, swept board if I recall) Then had my ass handed to me on Sunday before I chased with Texans pregame, 2nd half, in game, and Saints today. Then hit some wins in the live casino and suddenly I have a fat balance again. Bet Anaheim Ducks pregame parlayed with Saints under 70.5 and 65.5 in game. Bet the Yankees. I mean if I didn't have a fat balance noway I'm making all these bets

But it just blows my mind that I can sit here and play 50 dollar hands or play random slots in the casino like it's nothing.

So my 2 questions are...

1. Is it much easier for you to bet from your balance on a sportsbook compared to if you had to shell out actual cash to make the bet or transfer money from your bank account each time you placed a wager? Because to me, most of the time it just seems like a number on the screen, tokens to play with. My buddy has a saying, until you cash out you haven't really won it and it's not real money just numbers.

2. Do you bet more confident with a fat balance. Knowing you have more than enough to hedge out or chase or just the general confidence knowing you won't get cleaned out, not by a long shot. That's the case for me. 6,700.00 is my balance and all common sense and logic tell me to cash out at least half but all I can think of is placing fun wagers in NHL, live bets, MLB playoffs and especially wagering on ''action bets'' next NFL Sunday. Wagers I wouldn't make on top of my usual wagers if I didn't have a fat balance. Nobody needs like 7k to bet with. It's absurd. Yet I know I won't cash out. Maybe a grand at the most. It's sick.

I know I'll get the usual, ''sure sure, 6,700 in monopoly money etc etc. Well you can wager me any reasonable amount and I can prove it. The mods can hold the money and only pay out to me if they are 120% percent convinced. Also, who cares what you think anyways. Let's so for argument's sakes, I'm lying. Ok fine. Who cares. The 2 questions still stand....

Is it just numbers on a screen to you and you spend what you otherwise wouldn't? Like I just lost 200 betting dumb fun bets on live roulette for fun. If I had to shell out real cash I'd never spend that money even if I could afford it.

Also, do you win more and bet more confidently when you have a fat balance? I think I do.

Well, would love to hear some stories from the old timers or even my fellow younger degenerates where you hit a mini jackpot in a casino or went on a huge run betting and had a gigantic balance but just refused to cash out and lost it all or maybe even rolled it into something massive.

6,700 isn't a ton of money to an adult. It's still way too much to have in a sportsbook though. I'd say 2500 is more than enough. On top of the 6,700 I have 1000.00 riding on the Patriots -3 next Sunday. A bet I probably wouldn't have made if I had to pay a bookie or book cash or transfer from my bank account first. But from my sportsbook? La di da, just numbers..Patriots -3...click, click, confirm, bet accepted.

Alright then, mostly hoping to hear some interesting stories from guys that gamble heavy like myself and went on huge rollercoaster rides with their balance. There's ton of us out there and I never get tired of hearing those stories. Just like I never get tired of watching Rounders.

Hope some people have some. Or if there's an old thread about this somewhere somebody post the link.

Goodnight for now. Take care.

Still awake. Was playing slots. Started at 40 cents per spin to 2.00, to 10.00 eventually 40.00. Came all the way down to 5,300 and hit some free spins and some big wins. Ending night at around 9,200.

Still not cashing out...it's definitely degenerate behavior. Can't wait till Sunday. I'm going to sleep happy tonight...err this morning. Going too be tired as fuck at work but happy haha.

These slots are evil and addictive. I used to mock those people I saw at the casino looking like zombies playing them for hours. Now I know how damn near impossible it is to pry yourself away. Glad I finally had the will power to turn it off.

There has to be something those slots do to you chemically in the brain. I seriously couldn't pry myself away from it.

Finally...I sleep now. Blah.

Not sure what adults you talk to but I am sure 99.99% on this board or any board if you asked them $6,700 is a good amount of cash. Who are you fooling with this comment, only yourself.

I bet rather large and win quite a bit, however I never fall into the temptation to play casino games online. It's the biggest trap out there. They know people get bored, want action and well there it is at your fingertips. I just want to win $10 and like magic you win and quit and you do it over and over several times during the day and win. But all it takes is that one time where you lose the first hand, the second, the third, the ninth in a row and then you are chasing to get your money back and you get on a little run and you just need to win 2 or 3 more hands to get even. Then it happens, you can't win, you get 18 they get 19. You get 19 then get 5 card 20's. You double down vs 5 and 6 get 20 and they dig out 7 card 21's. Don't fool yourself, it happens. Ask everyone that had their account go busto how it happened and that is the story you'll get about playing in the casino.

Do some people win, who really knows, they advertise these big winners but where are they on the boards talking about it? Nowhere to be found, it's a con game. Do we really know if player x1tasy1 really won $84,256 on black jack? Seriously think about it.

If you want to be smart, cash out everything except what you deposited and work your balance back up again. Use your winnings to recover what you have lost in the past.

Don't fall into the trap.

Only bet with an edge. Most everything else is immaterial (except to bet bigger when the advantage is bigger). Whether the money comes from my pocket, the ATM or an app on my phone makes no difference at all
