Anyone else surprised by this? They’re the better team with home field. I know home field isn’t as big in baseball, but still.

Hell even if you think Houston is better, it should be a toss up -110 series. Who the hell is buying Houston at -150 or worse? What a joke

Vegas is whiffing like crazy on these guys, as illustrated by the last couple games. They had Boston at +155 MONEY line in New York in Game 3, then had the audacity to make them a big dog again in Game 4.

I rather take Stros at +$ for game one if you think they will win the series instead of -150...which is exactly what I'll do.
Stros is almost unbeatable at home in playoffs... Lost 1 game since last year to LAD.

They haven't played anyone as good as Boston though. No way they sweep the three games in Houston.

Also on Bovada, Houston ML in Game 1 is EVEN. That's the game they have to win.

They were one call away from sweeping them in the last series. Altuve slid into home, missed the tag and they botched the call (the MLB admitted this, too) or else the Astros would have swept them. That was on top of having injuries. The Astros got better this year, one of the worst bullpen's which was rated first toward the end of the season. Got another ace with Gerrit Cole. I think it will be a pretty good series, but I wouldn't come out and say the Red Sox are the better team just because they have the best record. Please put the 47-115 Orioles, one of the worst teams in the last 50 years, into the Astros division if you want to see an inflated record. The Sox's played them like 15 times. The Astros still don't get as much credit as they deserve from a large group of people. Everyone talked about the Yankees and Red Sox all season. Yankees are out, Red Sox are next.

Very vulnerable bullpen, struggled in close games, against a team with an extremely deep, versatile lineup w/home field.

Give me the Sox all day, especially at that price.

Astros relief - number 1 in the league during the season, number two in the post season. A massive improvement from last year when they won without even having a bullpen. The Astros have much better pitching overall which is why they pretty much swept the sox, both starting and relief. Comparable line-ups. Astros were riddled with injuries on 3 of their big name hitters which is the reason for the decline on offense. Everyone is healthy again minus Correa who still has a sore back.

You have the home field advantage going for you though. The Astros have been one of the best road teams, set a franchise record for road wins this year and got top 3 in MLB. I think it will be a good series but the Red Sox are not the better team. You got a good price but there's more to it than that.

Houston has the edge in pitching overall, but the batting lineups aren't really comparable at all. Boston definitely has the better offensive team, and a much deeper lineup. I think the best you could argue is a push in this series, but even that makes the price difference pretty ridiculous.

I guess we'll see what happens.

Forgot to add:

Sure, Houston got better. But Boston got a lot better this year. Houston hasn't played anyone nearly this good in the last two postseasons. They barely got by a pretty so-so Yankees squad last year. The Yankees got quite a bit better too-- then Boston blitzed them in New York

Not trying to sway anyone if they like RSox... I was surprised by the hefty price on Stros, currently at -150, that Vegas set.... Thought it would be even considering homefield and the brand... But it tells me all I need to know besides the matchup itself.

They were pretty evenly matched in their 7 games against each other this season with houston taking 4, Sox taking 3.

The pitching goes to Houston for sure, but I do think Boston has the better line-up.

With Boston having home field I think a +130 series price is pretty generous and I would take it.

Houston's win rate on the road this year is like 70%

Houston went 57-24 on road and just 46-35 (.568) at home.

Boston needs Sale to go deep in two games in this series and he's coming off the DL and been limited on a pitch count.

Houston's OPS and run differential vs Clev and in the last 6 weeks has been Top 3 of all time
