Watched most of part one last night. I know they it aired a few weeks ago on ESPN2. I still get a big kick about the fixed college games at MSG in the fifties. The Garden was packed with bookies and bettors. These kids were shaving points. It was probably more widespread than the kids, fixers and bookies they caught. Fixed games were probably rampant in both college and the pros for decades. There no computers. Only people keeping records on pieces of paper. No database for mathematicians to analyze to compare players performance from one night to the next. It was also fascinating how college sports attracted so much interest while pro sports like the NFL and NBA had so much trouble getting off the ground. I also liked seeing interviews with old NBA players like Bob Cousy. The last time I saw him was starring in the movie Blue Chips. It's really a great documentary. Far beyond the scope of anything ESPN has done up to now.
