Khabib Nurmagomedov has threatened to leave the UFC if the promotion cuts ties with his teammate and rostered featherweight Zubaira Tukhugov.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Nurmagomedov (27-0), who defended his lightweight championship against Conor McGregor in what he described as a deeply personal fight at UFC 229 on Saturday in Las Vegas, told the UFC to "send me my broken contract" if they cut Tukhugov, who was involved in a melee after Nurmagomedov's victory.

"I would like to address UFC. Why didn't you fire anyone when their team attacked the bus and injured a couple people?" Nurmagomedov wrote, referring to an incident in April when McGregor threw a steel dolly through the window of a bus Nurmagomedov was riding in at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, before UFC 223. "They could have killed someone there, why no one says anything about insulting my homeland, religion, nation, family?

"Why do you have to punish my team, when both teams fought. If you say that I started it, then I do not agree, I finished what he had started. In any case, punish me, [Tukhugov] has nothing to do with that.

"If you think that I'll keep silent then you are mistaken. You canceled Zubaira's fight and you want to dismiss him just because he hit Conor. But don't forget that it was Conor who had hit my another Brother FIRST, just check the video.

"If you decide to fire him, you should know that you'll lose me too. We never give up on our brothers in Russia and I will go to the end for my Brother. If you still decide to fire him, don't forget to send me my broken contract, otherwise I'll break it myself."

Nurmagomedov also told the UFC to "keep" his $2 million payday, which is still being withheld by the Nevada State Athletic Commission during its investigation.

UFC did not immediately respond to a request from ESPN for comment.

Tukhugov (18-4) is from Chechnya, and is a member of Nurmagomedov's team. He and McGregor (21-4) were caught on camera in a brief exchange during Saturday night's brawl, which began when Nurmagomedov left the Octagon after the fight to confront McGregor's corner.

Tukhugov posted a video on social media shortly after, saying he "slapped him as promised," according to a translation by BloodyElbow.com.

Tukhugov was scheduled to face McGregor's teammate Artem Lobov at the end of the month in a UFC bout, but both sides confirmed to ESPN's Ariel Helwani that the fight is off.

The NSAC is expected to file complaints on Nurmagomedov and McGregor for their roles in the incident. They are facing potential fines and suspensions. There were no arrests made.

sucks the fight is off. would be good to see the two go at it. to a certain aspect i agree with khabib. connor gets special treatment and the ufc turns a blind eye cause he brings in money. he crossed the line attacking religion, country and family. love how khabib says i will quit and you can take the 2 mill and choke on it. if you have seen his previous fights you can see how out of character he was-connor got under his skin which is part of connors game but he crossed the line in the way he does it.

trying to turn MMA into WWE

they fight that image and its a bad look but this was a grudge between 2 teams. the pistons vs pacers brawl was way worse. khabib went after someone involved in the grudge and someone who had provoked him throughout the fight "allegedly". you can call him a "muslim rat" but in all fairness the UFC should have removed someone for saying that and the dude shouldnt be shocked for being attacked for saying it--albeit allegedly. this had been brewing non-stop since april and even before then. this wasnt fighters fighting fans this was fighters fighting fighters with fans too close. the ufc should answer for this, they allowed connor to cross the line and faced zero consequences throughout because it sold. then you have someone hell bent on defending their honor go over the top and wonder why?

McGregor didn't get under his skin at all. His demeanor at the pre-fight press conferences was stoic and unemotional. His demeanor showed during the fight.

he held himself back as best he could. you could tell when conor showed up late he was pissed and at the weigh in they got close. he was agitated and annoyed with conor throughout the entire process and showed restraint. i suppose it all came out eventually. someone needed to shut conor and his team up and ufc had no interest in making their money guy stop what he does when they should have.

1st. conner throwing the object into the bus was a civil issue, (Gray UFC area) that was handled.

2nd. Inside the ring during a fight(+OUTSIDE the ring during the fight) is a UFC ISSUE,, ZERO GRAY area,,,

You Cannot allow performers to go into the seats!!!!!!!!!!(Just ask the NBA) lol,,,,

Bye Habib,,, I dig ya man,, but you are wrong wrong wrong,,,,

I think UFC is handling this perfectly so far,,, on all areas,,, and if they fire his buddy (which I think a 1 years or 2 year suspension seems more reasonable) then so be it,,

you gotta control the monkeys,,, the monkeys dont control the UFC,,,

just ask the NFL how that shit is working for them?? and how much money they have lost??!!

How was the bus issue a civil matter? He paid off the guards of a UFC sanctioned event (or they looked the other way) and attacked a bus carrying many UFC fighters at a sanctioned UFC event?

What's the difference between attacking a person at a fight or attacking them at a weigh in?

actually the Bus thing was a felony criminal matter that Conor pleaded down one charge as a misdemeanor, and the other 3 chargers were dropped . lol

Then it became a Civil matter because one or two guys on the Bus sued Conor. I believe both guys were fighters and couldn't make their matches.

as for what happened after the fight, I think it's a criminal thing to be honest.
I think way back when something like this happened in a Boxing match in Vegas, and they arrested the guy. I think it was another Fighter... I forget...

I guess my point was both incidents were criminal in nature but occurred at UFC sanctioned events.

Yes I agree, but I think there's a slight difference between one being in a ring / octagon and the other in a loading dock. But it was at a MMA Media event, so who knows

still think the bus indecent was straight out of a WWE show. I don't watch much of WWE anymore, but I could remember plenty of Loading dock situations
