CNN news anchor Don Lemon has continued to blast Kanye West, calling his talk with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Thursday a 'minstrel show'.
The visibly agitated political host unleashed a hail of criticism against the Chicago rapper saying his White House meeting was an embarrassment to himself and the African American community, as he spoke on CNN's The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer on Thursday evening.
His shocking comments come just two days after Donald Trump Jr, former football star Herschel Walker, and political commentator Candace Owens called for the CNN host to be ousted after he laughed when a black commentator on his show called West 'the token negro of the Trump administration'.
But on Thursday evening Lemon seemed unbothered and continued to dig into West following the rapper's lunch with the president, Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump and NFL Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown where they discussed African American employment and prison reform on Thursday.

Lemon said: 'I couldn't even watch it. I had to turn the television off because it was so hard to watch. Him sitting there, being used by the President of the United States'

'I have no animosity for Kanye West. I'm just going to be honest and I may get in a lot of trouble for it. I actually feel bad for him. What I saw was a minstrel show today,' Don Lemon said on The Situation Room.
'Him in front of all these white people embarrassing himself and embarrassing Americans, but mostly African Americans because every one of them is sitting either at home or with their phones, watching this, cringing.
'I couldn't even watch it. I had to turn the television off because it was so hard to watch. Him sitting there, being used by the President of the United States. The President of the United States exploiting him,' he added Thursday evening.
The Oval Office conversation quickly veered off the track of employment and prison reform as the Yeezy fashion designer went off topic to rant about his Bipolar Disorder diagnosis, the meaning behind wearing his MAGA hat, and to praise Trump's presidency as 'a hero's journey'.
But his speech disturbed Lemon who went so far as to say West's mother would be ashamed of his White House appearance.
'If anyone around him cares about him...they need to grab him, snatch him up and get Kanye together because Kanye needs help. This has nothing to do with being liberal or a conservative. This has to do with honesty. And we have to stop pretending, sitting here on these CNN panels or whatever network panels, and pretending like this is normal and let's have this conversation about Kanye West,' Lemon said.

'This was an embarrassment. Kanye's mother is rolling over in her grave. I spoke to one of her friends today. I texted with one of her friends today from Chicago. I used to live there. I know him. She said Donda would be embarrassed by this. She would be terribly disturbed by this,' he added.
In West's speech he likened wearing the controversial red Make America Great Again cap to wearing a superhero's cape. Lemon said such a metaphor means West needs a father figure.
'He needs someone to help him and to guide him and he needs a hug more than anything,' Lemon said.
'Kanye, back away from the cameras. Go get some help. And then come back and make your case. If you want to be conservative, if you want to support Donald Trump, that is your business. But as you're doing it, have some sense with it. Make sense. Educate yourself,' he pressed.
'We're watching someone's demise in front of our eyes. And the president as well,' he added.
Lemon also touched upon Kanye's use of profanity, calling himself a 'crazy motherf***er'.
'Can you imagine if President Barack Obama had Kanye West or any rapper or any person entertainer in the oval office who said M.F., can you imagine - everybody's heads would be exploding. Not just over at Fox News, not just the conservatives,' he said.

West showed up to the meeting that the White House opened up to reporters at the last minute wearing a 'Make America Great Again' ball cap. 'They tried to scare me to not wear this hat, my own friends, but this hat it gives me, it gives me power,' West asserted

Speaking on The Situation Room Thursday evening Lemon said the world needs to focus less on Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian - who appeared early in the year at a White House round table on criminal justice reform

Another contributor on the show agreed with Lemon.
'I want to add to something Don said and agree with him about the president using, using Kanye. The president thinks he's boosting his popularity with African Americans. We haven't seen that. And he thinks he's good for him. But he sat there and smiled the entire time. He was clearly uncomfortable,' the contributor named Gloria Borger said.
'I know they're supposed to discuss criminal justice reform, et cetera, et cetera. But it was like watching a train wreck because it was, and the president just sat there,' she added.
Lemon went on to say that the public needs to stop focusing on Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian in politics. Earlier this year Kardashian lobbied Trump to grant clemency to Alice Marie Johnson, a 63-year-old woman who was sentenced to life in prison on a nonviolent drug conviction.
'He has no credence in the black community on these issues,' Lemon closed.
But Lemon's comments against the famous rapper have landed him in hot water.
On Tuesday panelist Tara Setmayeron referred to West as 'the token negro of the Trump administration' on Lemon's show, leading football star and activist Herschel Walker to call for his firing.

Political contributor Tara Setmayer said the rapper is the 'token' black person of the Trump administration leading Lemon to laugh. The panel led to a public outcry, demanding for Lemon to be fired

Journalist Benny Johnson said the CNN segment was racist

'Went to bed appalled over Don Lemon's despicable behavior laughing at Tara Setmayer and Bakari Sellers' awful remarks about Kanye West’s visit with [Trump]! Woke up wondering why CNN doesn’t take all three off the air?' Walker tweeted on Thursday.
Conservative commentator Candace Owens joined the chorus saying the Tuesday segment was 'not only racist, it was absolutely despicable'.
'I cannot believe it would be allowed on any network, least of all having a host that's laughing as if it's funny,' she added.
Donald Trump Jr also took to Twitter on Wednesday to condemn the rapper's roasting.
'Kanye dares to think for himself so @CNN commentators mock him, saying Kanye (a wildly successful businessman) ''is what happens when negros don't read.'' At some point you have to ask, why is free thought & expression so dangerous & scary to liberals?' he wrote.
Fox News contributor Deroy Murdock called the comments 'reprehensible' and 'racist' typical of the 'Trump-hating Left'.
'Black Americans who think for ourselves are mocked and degraded with words we last saw under Jim Crow,' Murdock said.
