What a weekend for college football!

*New AP Top-10: Ala, OSU, Clem, ND, LSU, Mich, Tx, Ga, Ok, UCF.

*The former AP Top-10 went 5-4 last week.

*Tennessee's days as a pushover died Saturday with a whooping of Auburn.

*For the second straight week a heavy underdog came into Ohio Stadium and shutdown the Buckeyes' running game.

*In Washington's loss to Oregon...they had a chance to win on the final play but missed a 37 yard field goal.

*Texas freshman RB Keaontay Ingram was the first Horn RB to rush for more than 100 yards this season.

*LSU converted four times on 4th down sustaining drives that produced 13 points against Georgia.

*Nebraska's season is becoming embarrassing...should have won Saturday.

*Penn State and Wash entered the week as the highest rated one-loss teams....playoff hopes gone.

*Iowa St. outgained West Virginia 498 yards to 152 in upset win.

*Auburn is in freefall.

*Central Florida was just barely able to stay ahead of Memphis in a one-point comeback win.

*USC takes control of the Pac-12 South race with win over Colorado.

*Who will finish with the worst record...Nebraska or Oregon State?

*Bowling Green fired coach after a 1-6 start to the season.

*North Carolina St. remains unbeaten entering Saturday's showdown with Clemson Saturday.

*The Iowa Hawkeyes' have the Big Ten's No. 2 passing attack and No. 2 defense.

*Wisconsin is a mess with a defense allowing 6.1 yards per play.

*Alabama's win over Missouri was the 46th in the last 48 games.

*Notre Dame needed a late TD to avoid disaster in a poor offensive showing against Pitt.

*Georgia QB Jake Fromn was only 5 of 16 for 47 yards in the first half against LSU.

*Is Texas Tech's Kliff Kingsbury off the hot seat...probably after win over TCU.

*UCLA got its first win over Cal and looked pretty good doing it.

*Oregon is 5-1 this season and recruiting better than anybody in the Pac 12.

*Tenn entered the Auburn game 94th in 3rd down conversions...they were 11 of 19 against the Tigers.

*Penn State suffered its second consecutive home loss.

*The Pac-12 will almost certainly miss the playoffs again.

*Ohio State led Minn by just 6 points heading into the 4th quarter before pulling away.

*The SEC and Big 10 have established themselves as the deepest conferences in the nation.

*27 of the last 33 national champions have been in the Top 5 at this point in the season.

*Iowa State held West Virginia's high powered offense to just 152 yards.

*Georgia no longer looks head and shoulders above the rest of the East division.

*Week 8 games of interest: Mich/Mich St....Ok/Tcu….NC St/Clem....MSU/LSU...Ore/Wash St.

Gus will be a very expensive mistake when he is fired by seasons end

unless he sweeps the board the last 5 games but I see them losing easily 4 of last 5 , 3 of 5 if lucky

has Bama D really been tested? Guess we will see when meet LSU

Gus isn't going anywhere. His current buy-out is 36.75 MILLION DOLLARS. Yes, you read that correctly.....Auburn is fucked.
