Seems like this is a little more reasonable of a discussion as there are pros and cons to both sides. Could see it going either way. The best forward of the 90's vs the best forward of the 00's and onward.

Some obvious arguments in favor of Malone that many people tend to believe (I don't believe they mean Malone is better and I don't think many of them are even valid but they are arguments people make all the time, so I'll save everyone the time and just list them)

Pro-Malone...

-He played in an era with way better players. Just tons of superstars in the league then, especially the Western conference.

-He played in the superior conference for most of his prime as the West was better than the East even in the 90's. LeBron much weaker conference for the entirety of his career.

-He played in a time period with tougher rules that made scoring more difficult.

-He didn't win any championships, but he lost 2 finals to Jordan. What if LeBron played back then? He would be ringless loser as Jordan would've just beat him too. Perhaps not even needing heroic buzzer beaters to do so.

-He played for 1 team his entire career, didn't have to run from team to team to find the most advantageous situation.

Pro-LeBron arguments

I'll let others make that case, don't wanna initiate all discussion in the thread.

Pats I honestly don't know if you're being serious or sarcastic.

But the part about more Superstars in the league back then is fact...

Did Malone also help turn that white dude into the all-time steals leader?

:think2:

Stockton holds one of greatest achievements ever in sports.

All-Time records on both sides of the ball.

Will probably never be done again.

Lol. Most smart people agree Lebron better than MJ? Might be the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time. Get real.

Actually most smart people and hall of famers that know the game a lot better than us agree Jordan is better. More HOF agree to this than saying Lebron is better. You don't know bball if you really believe Lebron is better.

Not going to dignify this nonsense over and over. Lol. No point teaching those that don't want to learn. Forget it lol.

The overall quality of players in every major sport today compared to 1992 is superior without question.

Basic human genetics, physical evolution and far superior training resources (from CBB on up) assure it could not be otherwise.

Likely half of 1992 NBA if transported forward 25 years via time machine could not crack today's rosters

Not bad...When I saw you posted in the thread, I just assumed you were gonna bring up the fact Malone fucked a 13 year old and derail the thread.

It took humans millions or more years to evolve.

But we supposedly evolved dramatically in a mere 30-40 years .

Yeah Right.

I always laugh at this theory.

Do we have better fitness & health awareness & accessibility?

Yes.

But not to the point that the difference between people/players then and now are completely night & day...

Remember Stoudamire without Nash? That is Malone without Stockton

I'm not going to say its a night and day difference but come on. Lets look at football. The hogs of Washington are thought of as being the best OL of their era and one of the best ever, they averaged a weight of 273 pounds. Todays average NFL O line is not only much stronger and faster but they also average a weight of around 320 pounds. Hence, much bigger, stronger, faster then just 30 years ago. Look at basketball. These days centers that are 6'11" are going out and shooting 3 pointers. That is something that literally never happened in Jordan's day. Guy in the league are much more athletic in general imo that 30-40 years ago. Again, I maybe wouldn't call it night and day but I think its hard to argue that athletes in general are a lot better now

I thought maybe some of the nostalgia and strong bias for the halcyon days of the 1990's could possibly propel Malone in this poll. Maybe we'll try Clyde Drexler next? Made 2 finals in the roughest, toughest, baddest, most talented NBA era ever. With Terry Porter as the 2nd best player on his team.

If not for the Bad Boy Pistons and Jordan, he would've had 2 rings. Whereas LeBron only has 3 playing against a bunch of total losers.
