You can question the call all you want, but who watches that replay and comes away with Mookie closing his glove to early?? Lolalso IMO
Betts mistimed closing his glove as opposed to a fan or fans causing him to close his glove.
i don’t think it was a bad call had he called it a home run on field it would have stood . His first thought was fan interference and that’s how he saw it. Being perfect was never part of the game still played and officiated by humans . Age of technology has turned everything into absolute instant gratification whether it’s a game or a police shooting . Everything in between is long lost can’t judge a book by its cover.
Great post brady +1.The Red Sox were the better team this series regardless of the call. They made the plays when it counted and that's what playoffs always come down to. Even if the Astros got the call there's a good chance they either would have lost anyways or went on to lose the rest of the series with the way both teams were playing. This coming from a Houston fan.
Correa definitely was not right during this series and neither was Altuve. He was literally limping around the bases for the series trying to stay in the game. If you see how poorly we played with Altuve out or Correa injured, or both injured earlier this season it's just a night and day difference. Both of these guys hit for mid .250's in the series. Our bats were just cold on top of everything else. I've heard people rebuttal that Mookie was hurt too but when the guy is making spectacular leaping catches over and over I have a hard time believing that. I would have loved to see the series with the Astros main two guys not injured because I think it would have been a lot different. Not excuses, again the better team that series won but they also lost to us their fair share this year.
Congrats to Red Sox backers.
