Brazilian soccer star found nearly beheaded with genitals severed, report says

A Brazilian soccer star was reportedly found nearly beheaded with his genitals "severed" Saturday, his body dumped on a road known as a spot where criminals dispose of bodies.

Daniel Correa Freitas, 24, who plays for Sao Paulo FC – one of the biggest soccer clubs in the country – was discovered in Sao Jose dos Pinhais in the southern part of the country, police said.

An official cause of death wasn’t immediately confirmed. However, a municipal guard told the local newspaper Band B that Freitas was the victim of “torture.”

“From the appearance of the body, it was a very violent situation,” the municipal guard told the paper. “The man had two deep cuts on his neck, his head was nearly beheaded, and his genitals were severed.”

The road where Freitas was found is deserted and known as a place where criminals dump corpses, Band B reported.

“The Sao Paulo football club deeply regrets the death of midfielder Daniel Correa Freitas,” a tweet from Sao Paulo FC read. “The club sympathizes and pays condolences to the athlete’s family.”

Freitas was playing on loan for second-division Sao Bento, according to ESPN. The midfielder began his career at Botafogo before moving to Sao Paulo in 2015.

SÃO PAULO, Brazil — Brazil has beat its own macabre record for homicides: 63,880 people were murdered across the country in 2017, up 3 percent from the year before, according to a new study.

That’s 175 deaths per day.

Data from the Brazilian Forum of Public Security, a research organization, shows the murder rate in the country was 30.8 per 100,000 people, up from 29.9 in 2016. For the sake of comparison, the United States had five homicides per 100,000 people in 2015 — the most recent year for which data are available — down from eight per 100,000 in 1996. Even Mexico, which is also suffering from a soaring murder rate, had less homicides per capita with 25 per 100,000 last year.

This murder rate of 15.65 per 100,000 population is still above the U.S. average, an average which takes in many small towns and suburbs. Chicago's homicide ratehad surpassed that of Los Angeles by 2010 (16.02 per 100,000), and was more than twice that of New York City (7.0 per 100,000) in the same year.

That was my thought.....if he's a soccer star, I would think he has money. Was it a serial killer that's going around torturing & killing men, then severing there privates, if there's anymore, it will be connected.

I doubt it was a robbery, like who robs some guy & then severed their privates, makes no sense......then again, its Brazil.

First, you disregard the article. Yes, disregard it. Extract the meaning or the emotion they want you to draw from it. What is their goal?

You can see they've already achieved that. It's only human nature after all. Then you ask yourself, "Now why would they want to generate your emotion and point it in that direction.... and then over time repeatedly hit that sweet spot?"

Bolsonaro just elected. Will we see a flood of articles in the future depicting Brazil as descending into savagery now that Bolsonaro has been elected? After all, he seeks to give Brazilians the right to protect themselves and their families.... which is a big no-no for the ((New World Order)).

"Football star" .... "played for Sao Paulo FC"...this guy barely played for SPFC after getting signed, last two years moved around the country on loans to lower division clubs and since 2014/15 has rarely even played at all...That Fox News article is just plain out bad...

The businessman who allegedly killed Brazilian soccer player Daniel Correa Freitas says he did so after finding the midfielder in his underwear trying to rape his wife.

The Sao Paulo star’s body was discovered in Sao Jose dos Pinhais, a city in Brazil’s southern state of Parana, with his genitals cut off and almost decapitated.

The suspects have been named as Edison Brittes Jr., 38, his wife, Cristiana Brittes, and their 18-year-old daughter, Allana Brittes.

Edison has given his version of events, telling the “Brasil Urgente” program on TV Bandeirantes that he found the midfielder, 24, at his daughter’s birthday party.

“[Freitas] had gone in, taken his clothes off and locked the door,” Edison said. “I knocked on the door to my room and when I opened it, he was on top of my wife and she was screaming and begging for help.

“What I did was what any man would do, because the woman that was there was not my wife, she was every woman in Brazil. It could be your daughter, sister, mother or wife. At that moment it was my wife, Cris, who I have been married to for 20 years.”

He added: “The media said a lot of things. My wife never had anything with Daniel, never mind my daughter.

“Rumors always get started but the truth will come out. I know I did what I did, I want everybody watching to think what they would do to keep the moral integrity of your family and help a small and fragile woman.

“When I threw him off my wife, I threw him on the floor and stopped her being raped by that monstrous scumbag.”

Edison’s friends allegedly tried to stop him from attacking the Sao Paulo star — who belonged to a club in the equivalent of the Premier League — but “they could not do it” because he was angry.

Local media report Freitas had been at Allana Brittes’ birthday party at the family home and had sent messages to a friend saying he “was going to eat” the “birthday girl’s mum.”

And a photo has emerged of Freitas smiling next to an unconscious woman, identified in local media as Cristiana, which he is believed to have sent to his friend.

Edison’s daughter is said to have told reporters she had heard screaming from her mother’s room and that Freitas had said nothing when he was caught.

She said she had met Daniel one year ago but had never “been involved” with him.

The investigation is ongoing.

Yeah.... but, it is kind of one side of the story and from a dude who Killed and mutilated a body and then dump that body in the streets.

I have to say there may be a little bias to the story.

Like I said, expect a lot of propaganda about Brazil. I read different outlets and it's the same thing. If I was a gullible liberal, I'd think the guy is going to massacre babies with a chainsaw and a battle axe.
