1Strike Silver (KY)closed giant in race that front end fell apart, has held own in top company on dirt, likely favorite.
2Soldier's Call (GB)Front ender, speed likely, led every step but last at Longchamp, was fully extended, hotter pace today.
3Well Done Fox (GB)Even run chasing leaders and then was passed by Sergei, probably a cut below top.
4Stillwater Cove (KY)cutting back from Natalma experiment, bolton landing was good effort while wide against suspect field. seems like a stalking trip best suits.
5Bulletin (KY)set fairly easy pace in stake unpressed and kept on going, another speed type, will likely be pressing Soldier's Call
6Moonlight Romance (KY)Yet another WW here, had perfect trip in race where main rival fell, another seeming just a shade below top.
7Shang Shang Shang (FL)Off since front end Ascot performance, seems to be her style, other speed signed on softenes her? They will be trying to collar her in stretch.
8Sergei Prokofiev (ON)Ryan Moore's choice of the Obrian duo, ran on very nicely in last when beating a couple of today's rivals. Inconsistent, but his good days are good enogh to win.
9Chelsea Cloisters (KY)A lot of promise early in career, but hard to find excuses for stopping in last two. Think I will have to let her beat me.
10So Perfect (KY)Always getting slices, but not frequently hitting paydirt, actually hit top with 70 yds left looked a winner and might have waited on others.
11Queen of Bermuda (IRE)Well traveled filly who has been running behind some of these, see more of the same today.
12Pocket Dynamo (KY)Has been grabbing slices in graded races in UK, was making a run with Serg @ Nmkt and was completely in a box. Upgrade the rider, Big shot from me.
Picks 12-8-7-4
Juv Fil Turf
1Concrete Rose (KY)Powerful performance in Lexington, a perfect two for two, would be the top choice most years, but the Chad has something to say about that one.
2The Mackem Bullet (IRE)Chasing the talented Fairyland across the pond, stretching out to this distance, might be chasing again today.
3Lily's Candle (FR)2 for 2 at mile. Big late lunge in the last to first effort in the Prix Marcel, Never looked like a winner and somehow got up. Will she be left with too much to do?
4Just Wonderful (KY)Obrien and Moore present, nice run at Newmarket, always have to respect connections, I will be passing, however.
5La Pelosa (IRE)Workmanlike win in the Natalma, splitting horses and edging clear, might be a shade slower than top.
6Newspaperofrecord (IRE)Many's top choice of the weekend. Two blowout NY wins. In a race without much pace, catching her to win will not be an easy task.
7Stellar Agent (KY) Chased the favorite in last and then couldn’t keep pace, same seems likely today.
8Belle Laura (KY)Needed a search party to find her early, but came flying late at Keeneland, will gather some pieces, but probably all.
9Varenka (KY)Motion sends a maiden here, always respect him on the grass, however just don’t see the the breakthrough in this spot.
10Pakhet (KY)Kind of a chasing type run all the way vs Rose, can't fault for flattening out late, game to hold second. However probably not in top tier.
11Lady Prancealot (IRE)Two late closing seconds since the US trial, those seconds were against weaker, would need major improvement.
12Summering (FL)Interesting horse pace wise, will they challenge NPR? Flashed a lot of promise in San Diego when controlling things, was taken off the pace and didn’t kick. Chance
13My Gal Betty (KY)Finally crossed wire not in front in Natalma when chasing home La Pelosa, positive rider switch, but will have to improve to contend for top spot.
14East (GB)2 for 2 in France sprinting, hindered with this outside post, seems like she will have her work cut out for her.
Picks6-1-12-3
Juv Fillies
1Reflect (KY) A bit rank during the run down the backside, was anxious to see how she would handle two turns, probably just running for minor spoils.
2Serengeti Empress (KY)Romped, with a capital R in the last two, a speed mission tour de force. Gets the acid test today with these classy gals, no easy leads here.
3Vibrance (LA)LA bred dueled and faded in the wake of the favorite last time out, can probably see more of the same in this one.
4Restless Rider (KY)Impressive two turn debut at Keeneland from this gray, training well, imposes big threat on the top choices, will be my pick.
5Cassies Dreamer (KY)Two thirds and a Maiden 50 win might leave this one overmatched today.
6Baby Nina (OH)Beaten a combined 57 in last two combined, Looch always dreams big. Going to have to do some more sleeping.
7Jaywalk (KY)Was put onto this one after she freaked in Philly, loved the way she raced there, loved the way she controlled things in NY. Not going to be easy today though. Shot
8Sippican Harbor (KY)Big big turn of foot in the Spinaway running down a few of today's rivals, strikes me as a late running sprinter, better at shorter.
9Splashy Kisses (KY)No match for the Empress last time out, someone had to get second, hard to see her turn the tables today,
10Bellafina (KY)The fave, drawn outside, won her last three by open lengths, would like to see a stalking trip outside some of her main rivals, the gal to beat.
Picks4-10-7-1
Juv Turf
1Arthur Kitt (GB)Ambitious placing here as just a handicap winner in GB, has taken some money in graded efforts overseas, seems a cut below.
2Uncle Benny (KY) Last at the top of the lane, and rolled home to pass them all 6f at Bel, stretches out likely to show more speed like in first start, Irad retained.
3Much Better (KY)Baffert found the turf for this one in Zuma Beach, Chased a torid pace by leader who faded way last. Can't fault him for getting a little leg weary.
4Forty Under (KY)Grass seems to be the thing for this one, Very workmanlike win grinding down 'brown in Pilgrim, Manny looks to sit and make a late run.
5Line of Duty (IRE)Cutting back from 9f for this, the 3rd place finisher in last came back to win G1 in France, something to boast, If Buick works out a trip, should make good account of himself.
6Henley's Joy (KY)A heartbreaking headbob away from being perfect, shifted lanes a bit in the stretch in there too. Think he will be around at the wire once more. Choice.
7Somelikeithotbrown (NY)This NY bred looked home free turning for home just to be run down by Forty Under after being late to switch leads, pace player.
8Opry (KY)Dissapointing run last time as the beaten favorite, was very wide throughout, must improve to turn the tables.
9The Black Album (FR)French question mark will probably not make an impact on the top spot.
10War of Will (KY)Speedy type for Casse set the pace in all three starts but failed to last in all three. Know this maiden early, but late is the question.
11King of Speed (KY)Finally put it all together when Stevens scraped the paint at Del Mar, found himself the same trip in the Zuma, on a little winning streak, will try to pass them all.
12Current (KY)Like a rocket at the 1/8 pole in Lexington, reunited with with Johhny V who knows how to bring home a turf runner. Repeat of last puts him on the wire.
13Marie's Diamond (IRE)Sprinter stretching out and making first start in US. Tough post, don’t know if this one's good enough.
14Anthony Van Dyck (IRE)Ran into a VERY good 2yo across the pond, likes to be close up, Ryan Moore likely will be sending him from the far outside. If he clears, look out.
Picks6-5-14-4
Juvenile
1Dueling (KY)Blinkers on to flash some more speed, broke thru after his 2nd to Game Winner at 4/5. Smith jumps ship worth noting, but he's not without a look .
2Mr. Money (KY)Stretched out to break the maiden over this strip a month ago, a couple of sharp workouts including a bullet of 36 for this longshot.
3Derby Date (KY)The manatory D Wayne longshot, just seems like this horse doesn't have a chance, would need to catch lightning in a bottle.
4Tight Ten (KY)Completely overpriced on ML in my opinion, has run credible races vs decent 2yo not in this running. 2 times on this surface, warrants a longer look than odds suggest.
5Well Defined (FL)Florida bred been mopped up on his own kind last time, stepping up into the majors for this one. Lurred HOF rider, should be up on the pace with the one to his outside.
6Complexity (KY)2 for 2 and won the last impressively never giving them a chance. Seems to know his role as the leader, 2nd Choice to Baffert, they'll have to run him down.
7Mind Control (KY) Stepped up in a big way in the Hopeful to spoil the party, off since. NJ connections may have themselves a nice one. Gets a distance and fitness test in this.
8Standard Deviation (KY)Hood on for this virtual 1A to Complexity, never given a chance at Keeneland with too much to do. A closer trip makes him very interesting.
9Game Winner (KY) It's Baffert, 3 for 3. Do I need to say anymore? … The favorite and based on resume deservingly so, will be trying to beat him hoewever.
10Knicks Go (MD)Shocked the world when he wired them at Keenland, that meet was very speed biased, and he got very lonely. Don’t see it happening again.
11Code of Honor (KY)The buzz horse, may even contend for 2nd choice. Everyone raved about the way he closed behind Complexity, interestingly bred. Undervalued.
12Gunmetal Gray (KY)Chased home game winner while gathering second in the Pharoah, would have to improve quite a bit to flip the script. Outsider.
13Topper T (IA)Iowa invader gets switched to the Mott regime interestingly. Super longshot bomber, Bill never puts them in where he thinks they're overmatched..Right?
14Signalman (KY)Got jostled and bumped turning for home in the Breeders Futurity, will have to work out a crafty trip from out there to get the cheddar.
