A businessman in the area of Santa Ana, San Jose, rescued his son who had been kidnapped this Thursday, November 1st, by crashing his car into the kidnappers’ car.
The Ministry of Public Security confirmed that the suspects are a 22 year old Nicaraguan woman of last name Oporta and a French man of surname Mirc 38 years of age.
The parents of the minor, Costa Rican, left their house in the center of Santa Ana to take his son to school, when just a few blocks from the house they were stopped by what they thought was a police control operation, when the driver lowered the window to speak to the man posing as a police officer they were attacked with pepper spray, the criminals immediately opened the doors of the car and took hold of the child who they immediately transferred to a Hyundai Accent where the couple arrested was waiting.
The father, despite the effects of the pepper spray immediately chased after them and finally caught up with them in Pozos de Santa Ana in the area known as La Chispa and decided to hit the kidnappers’ car to stop them, two other cars were involved in the accident, but they were able to rescue the child who was luckily in good condition.
When the neighbors realized what had happened they attempted to take justice into their own hands but the police arrived in time to arrest the couple. A firearm was found in the car when they searched it.
The Ministry of Security confirmed today that the suspects were given three months of preventive imprisonment while the matter is being investigated.
