Need the help of a horse expert

I made a bet that a horse from Europe would win Race 6. Newspaperofrecord (IRE) won and it was graded as a win for USA. I happened to catch the NBC Sports announcer reference her as an American horse. What am I missing here? Why list here IRE in the program if really from USA?

The horse was bred in Ireland.

But her only two races were in America.

You need clarification on what was meant by a "horse from Europe".

Thanks. I called and the guy on the phone was just as confused as me. He explained it the same way as you but assured me a supervisor would look into it further. I now see for the next head to head they list where each horse fits. That would have been nice for me.

if you go to breeders cup website they have the fields listed. it almost happened to me but the line made no sense so i googled the bet and went the breeders cup site and they have it clearly stated which horses are USA and which are EU

Thanks guys. They refunded my money for the bet... nice gesture by the site. They are now listing the numbers of who belongs where so there is no confusion. Husker when I made the bet Europe was 4/5 which I thought was about right. I didn't expect that horse to go off that low but clearly she deserved to. What a performance.

i like these matchups, they are clearly venturing into the sports betting ring by offering these to simplify the sport of horse racing as they start to offer sports betting.
