Chop's other thread got me thinking...

It doesn't have to be about money wagered. It could just be your favorite team losing in a bad way.

For me:

1. 1986 Red Sox Bill Buckner episode
2. 1978 Red Sox losing to Yanks in playoffs due to Bucky Fucking Dent Home Run
3. 2003 Red Sox losing to Yanks game 7 ALCS Aaron Boone home run
4. 2010 Celtics lose to Lakers game 7 NBA finals
5. 2008 Patriots ruin their perfect season to the Giants in the Superbowl
6. 2012 Patriots lose Superbowl to Giants with infamous helmet catch

Patriots losing to the Giants in the final moments of the SB following the 2007 season. Looked like they had it won, and it would have been a perfect season

Still can't believe what happened

3 pop into my head

As a fan, IU losing to Syracuse in the sweet 16 when we were the number 1 seed and had 3 lottery picks. Fuck you Crean

As a bettor

- had Gonzaga as one point dogs against butler. Zags up one and impounding at halfcourt with 3 seconds left. Butler steals the inbounds and sinks a game winner at the buzzer. Wasn't a huge bet but it was brutal

- random NBA night, unloaded my 5dimes account on spurs -8.5. They were up 24 late in the fourth and the other team scored 16 unanswered to end the game. Spurs went something like 0-6 from the line during that stretch.

- played a $1000 three team nfl parlay. I think I posted it somewhere on the rx. Last leg was Patriots at home against the Bill's - 9.5. Patriots immediately go up 14-0 in dominant fashion and I look like I'm on my way to a monster pay day. Bills ended up with a backdoor cover on the last garbage time drive of the game. Wasnt really a bad beat but it was going to be a huge payday and Patriots dominated the entire game.

- had a huge play on the red sox with Lacky on the mound. 7th inning red sox up 2 l, one out and man ok first and second. Ground ball to lackey, should be inning ending double play. Well he sails over the second basemans head. Next batter grand slam for 4 unearned runs and red sox lose.

All of these were years ago. If I bet now it's a handful of games a year. Got sick of the offshore pain in the ass and honestly too busy to handicap.

I think that is the best football team ever assembled.

Jesus Christ, so easy.

Pete Carroll refusing to run the ball with the best short yardage back in the game in the SB against NE with the game on the line.

Does the time that JC, in high school, was so captivated by the visiting team's male cheerleader that he played his tuba out of key count?

Actually the Bears team that Shula and Marino beat with the rollout and heave it to the Marks brothers team was better. The 49ers best team was also better in my opinion.

The 49ers team that obliterated the chargers in the superbowl?

UMD losing to Michigan St in the tournament. Greivis Vasquez brings the terps back after trailing most the game and hits a runner with 3 seconds left to take the lead. MSU immediately inbounds the ball, pushes up court and hits a 40 footer as time expired. One of my favorite college teams ever.

Also terps blowing a 20 point lead to Duke in the Final 4....but we won the title the next year so I cant complain. Beat Uconn with Caron Butler, Kentucky with Tashaun Prince, Kansas with Gooden and Hinrich on the way to the ship

Braves having a 2-1 lead on Yankees back to Fulton Co. in World Series.

Braves up in game by 3 runs in the 8th inning. Wohlers gives up a three run homerun to Jim Leyritz. Yanks win 3 in a row for WS title
