Daniel not a bad backup at all.
Trubisky is still evolving, has a very high ceiling is improving with experience... 2nd half vs Minny his shoulder affected his throws but he gutted it out.
A theory I have if Trubisky cannot go... In this spot motivation wise the team might avoid a letdown with Trubisky out and rally around Daniel, smother the Lions, and cover. Daniel is solid.

Chase Daniel looked good in preseason. I think he limits mistakes and plays hungry scrambling out the pocket when needed. I think he has better pocket presence than Trubs in general, tho mitch has been scrambling better lately.

The Lions will be playing without Johnson and Marvin Jones and people are acting like that won't have as big of an impact. The Bears will double up on Golloday and make someone else beat them but who is that someone else? They will have no run game without Johnson. They are down their top two WR from the start of the year. They have nothing at TE. This is basically Theo Riddick's game to win or lose. Good luck with that.

Last year as a rookie had worse receiving crew (F) in the NFL. Hard to develop in that circumstance.
This year much better, I’d rate Bear receivers a C+, C being average.

Charmed life in the NFL. He was one of the best, EVER, high school QBs in Texas. Went to Missouri, a QB friendly offense. He has made a lot of money and hardly a scratch on him.
He is, though, a solid backup, will be careful, make good throws under control, and probably will not "lose" the game with bad plays, dumb throws, etc. In this spot losing the starter is not much of a different, they can smother the Lions with their front 7 and get points along the way and cover, ugly, but cover.
