Recently made my first trip to Delaware since sports betting was made fully legal. It was a nice experience in Dover overall, but basically because I won the Red Sox bet.

I stayed there and was surprised at the room regulations and am trying to find out if this is standard. The room was very nice . In most sportsbook hotels are you banned from bringing any type of alcohol into your room? I mean I guess they want you to pay for room service, but was a little surprised. Second, it said the hotel was not responsible for personal loss as valuables should be locked in the room's safe.. I never found any "safe" in the room, but it had everything else one would expect at a resort place. Is this standard wording for most books' hotel?

The only reason I stayed there was 2 nights were at a very low rate due to being a new cardholder.... They just happened to have a special at the time... (LOL)

Why would you be prohibited from drinking a beer in a hotel room?

Don't think that's what he means.

Not sure the rules say no Outside Alcohol , but don't think they want to see you walk in with Bottles of liquor
people bringing in booze to your room when checking in usually just pack it in a bag

Think we had this discussion in a Vegas Thread. Some were shocked to hear people bringing in Booze from the outside. But it happens all the time
especially with a College age group. They don't want to price those drink prices that most Resorts charge.

As for the Safe. If it wasn't in the Closet it was in a drawer, most likely by the bed

It didn't say you couldn't drink in the room . It said you are prohibited from BRINGING alcohol into the room. I would think that includes beer.

Let me ask a really dumb question. If you can't bring it into your room, how would you be able to drink it in your room :think2:

When I'm traveling, I go to the bar in the hotel lobby and take one up to my room.

Thanks BAS! I didn't check the drawers, but did look in the closet... I forget what all was there, but included an ironing board..... I plan to go back when I'm sure it's NOT going to snow in December. I think enforcement of no alcohol brought into a room would be impossible.. That's why I was shocked to read such a thing.

By the way, you were right about that Applebees card from Amazon.. I bought one and received it yesterday and they let me cancel the Prime account, so no extra charge.... Lots of people will keep it and that's a money maker.

I'm assuming the place in question is an Indian casino.

They have one near Flagstaff here that does not allow "outside alcohol" in the rooms.

But you are allowed to purchase alcohol inside the property and take it to your room. Perhaps this is the rule there.

I'll do the same thing unless I'm going to Las Vegas or AC. and I still get RFB at most of the Casino Hotels that i stay at.
But when they charge you $20+ for a Drink and it goes against my comps, I bring a Bottle of what I like to drink with me. You can call me Cheap... lol

of course I don't leave the room with that drink, it's only when I'm in the room.... and spend at the Pool all the time, which Frozen drinks could run up to $32 a piece !

I think most, if not all properties don't allow you to bring Alcohol in. that being said, I'm sure 40% do

I typically pay $8-9 for a 4 pack of Guinness. These places will charge you $12 for one Guinness.

I would imagine you are correct.

The difference in my example is that in Flagstaff, they advertise it. Make you sign something when you check in. Etc.

Only casino Ive stayed at that takes those added steps.
