A BMW toy car is used in the Guapiles and Puntarenas Hospitals in Costa Rica to take small children to the operating room, this with the purpose of reducing the trauma caused at the moment the child is separated from the parents to undergo surgery.
The control remote toy car drives the children to the operating room; according to doctor Iliana Musa, director of the Guapiles Hospital the effect has been great, since the minors get in the car happy and don’t feel the cold of the operating room.
Dr. Musa explained that the car was purchased by personnel of the health center that organized raffles and requested donations to buy the car for the benefit of the children of this hospital in the province of Limon. The toy had a cost of one million colones.

The car helps reduce the stress caused by separation of the child from the parents, which is a difficult moment not just for the child but also for the parents and the personnel.
The toy is cleaned following all the procedures required in the hospitals.
