Robert Muller says Michael Flynn should get no prison time because of the 'substantial assistance' he has provided in the Russia probe. The special counsel said in a sentencing memo released on Tuesday night that the retired U.S. Army lieutenant general participated in 19 interviews with prosecutors and has helped in several criminal investigations. Large parts of the document were redacted and the full extent of his assistance was not revealed because the investigation is still ongoing, suggesting that Mueller's work is far from over. Mueller's office says Flynn assisted them 'on a range of issues, including interactions between individuals in the Presidential Transition Team and Russia.' The prosecutors haven't asked for no jail time in any of the other cases connected to the Russia investigation. Mueller's office did praise Flynn's character, saying his 'record of military and public service distinguish him from every other person who has been charged as part the investigation'. It's unclear if Trump will now turn his fury on Flynn, who Trump grew close to during the 2016 campaign and has drawn the president's sympathy since he came under investigation.

  • President Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani dismissed Mueller's filing and said there was nothing to suggest there was any collusion
  • The former Mayor of New York also described the Mueller team as 'overzealous media inspired prosecutors. They are sick puppies'

Flynn's son, Michael Flynn Jr, tweeted after the news of the sentencing memo broke saying: 'God is good. To those who have supported us throughout this process.... Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will never forget you.'

He did nothing to warrant jail time, hence he's not going to jail. Not really a very difficult concept to grasp

If this was even remotely true than the special counsel wouldn't have had to recommend that he served little to no jail time based off his cooperation in the investigation.

Based on post #7, it is apparently extremely difficult for some people to grasp that concept. So don't be so offensive Willie! Sheesh! Good grief!

Must have ruined another day I suppose. Some people are emotionally vested in Trump's demise, consumed by hatred, and obviously punch drunk.

They need bad news on Trump to breath, otherwise their lives suck.

That, combined with not making rent, is making for a pretty tough week I think.

"The two people who interviewed [Flynn] didn't think he was lying, [which] was not [a] great beginning of a false statement case," McCabe told the Intelligence Committee.
Only later, after Comey was fired and Mueller began his investigation, was Flynn accused of lying. He ultimately pleaded guilty.

my friend barbanman hates WINNING, misses eight years of suck, shows up whenever CNN starts talking impeachment again, then disappears when those dreams are shattered

Or maybe he just has more time on his hands during his slow season, I suppose that's plausible. Hope all is well Steve :)

PS: Do you know when those illegal alleyway abortions are going to become the norm? :) Now that Kavanaugh is sitting, when does that start?
