Murray winning the Heisman will do nothing to the physical match ups in the Bama/OU game. Those were baked into the mix thousand of hours ago. To the average bettor or OU fan this will only solidify a narrative that OU is bigger and better then they are, and no way Bama can cover the -14 against a Heisman winner. Even my perception has changed which has nothing to do with the players on he field. Bama will be able to line up and run the ball down OU's throat. OU knows that, but does not have the thousands of hours it would take to put a defense like Georgia's on the field. They only have 3 weeks

Bama's front 7 is heading to the NFL because of pure talent, great coaching and thousands of hours of work towards perfection. Just to get to Murray the DT, DE or LB is going to have to win an individual battle with the man in front of him. If he is quicker, stronger, and is surrounded by quicker and stronger teammates. He has a greater chance of getting to Murray. Those battles will be won or lost thousands of hours ago, but will only show up in a split second during the game.

Bama is in the playoff with a chance for a NC, they will be ready to play, as will OU.

I do like Bama even more now that Tua was passed over by Murray and was awarded the Heisman. Bama defense will be out to make a statement.

Yes, playing for the NCAA National Championship, they were not fired up, now they will be and will give 100%.
Is that your theory?

Not a theory.
As the father of a player who has won a National Championship ring under the current playoff system, I can tell you unequivocally that Alabama’s defense will take some measure of added desire to shut down the current Heisman trophy winner. Especially since their guy didn’t win it. It won’t be stated publicly but it will be an underlying theme within the team.

So the defense was going to play at, what, 95% effort, but now they will go 100%?

So they were going into the National Championship Playoff game and were only going to go 90%? :):)

LOL...............Whether Murray won the Heisman or not is irrelevant as Bama defense knows they'd have to be at their best as they are playing a historic offense in Oklahoma (at least #'s wise) so I'd expect them to be motivated anyway along with trying to get into the National Title Game as you stated.
