It is likely that the upcoming weeks register an increase specially of national tourists, occupancy is expected to reach 95% as it did last year.

The norm during the holiday season is for hotel occupancy in San Jose to go down to as much as just 55% occupancy.
Meanwhile the South Caribbean already reached 95% occupancy, while the Central Pacific follows closely with an occupancy of 89%, followed by Guanacaste.
Other areas that usually attract many tourists like La Fortuna in San Carlos also have great demand this end of the year, while some hotels are already booked others still have rooms available but expect to be almost completely booked before Christmas time.
Many foreign tourists choose to vacation in Costa Rica during this time with the purpose of escaping the harsh cold weather in Europe and North America, airlines also increase the frequency of their flights to Costa Rica to attend to the high demand.
