That’s the first time I’ve ever seen Carson Wentz referred to as overrated. I always considered him one of the best QB’s in the league. Perhaps Eagles know their season ended in Dallas.

Fly what’s up brother Merry Christmas to you and yours yea I really think Wentz is a one hit wonder Peterson is just trying to cover it up with excuses everybody has injuries this time of the year look at Watson from the Texans torn ACL last season looks great Wentz has a lot of mechanical issues Peterson really misses the two coaches he lost they made him look like a genius he looks so confused calling plays little Andy. Yes Andy is doing a great job in KC but in the end he will choke as usually.

Wentz was diagnosed with a fractured back vertebrae after receiving a CT scan Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Spin:
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Wentz has been sent in for multiple scans since the back issue first cropped up weeks earlier, but it wasn't until Thursday that a fractured vertabrae was detected. The Eagles are still evaluating Wentz to determine whether the issue is something he can play through over the remainder of the season or if the team is better served resting the franchise signal-caller. Regardless of the Eagles' decision, Rapoport and Schefter both relay that Wentz won't require surgery to address the matter, so his availability for the offseason program wouldn't seem to be in any peril. If Philadelphia does decide to act conservatively with Wentz, Nick Foles would step into the starting role beginning with Sunday's game against the Rams.

The Super Bowl hangover is very real.....for most teams

Indeed. But Pederson acting like it's no big deal with their downward spiral and nothing to worry about, it's something to worry about. Wentz has shown some flashes this season, but nothing to write home about. Losing Ajayi was huge.

All those injuries are the problem. Atlanta, Skins, Eagles eliminated with their injuries.
A few other teams hurt too.
Yes injuries are a part of the game but it’s worse than ever.

Lifelong Eagles fan and Philly Native perspective:

Wentz is a huge question mark at this point in his career but is given the benefit of every doubt in Philly as we haven't had a quality franchise QB since McNabb.
Personally, I get the impression that the Eagles were celebrating last season well into the start of this season and they were not as hungry as other teams. Hungry dogs run faster.
Finally, the injuries definitely got them this year, especially in the secondary. They are at the bare minimum at safety and corner and they cannot stop any pass over 10 yards.

Nick Foles is making Wentz look like an average quarterback I feel Wentz should have earned the starting job back the Eagles rally around Foles for some reason they play harder everybody will see Wentz isn’t as good as everyone thinks watch.

Wentz has not looked as good this year as when he started last year before his injury, I'll agree with that. I think the jury is still out since he's not played long enough. The dude is always getting hurt. The Eagles won last year because all the stars aligned. They are a good team but not great. I don't necessarily think that Foles is better just because they won a SB and beat the Rams. Just like I don't think Lamar Jackson is the answer in Baltimore. He's got great mobility and Baltimore is winning games with him but he is a terrible passer. Flacco is about ready to be put out to pasture so I know they'll probably roll with Jackson but my mother throws better than he does.

As players become bigger, faster, and stronger than ever before, the injuries will mount even faster. This is one reason the best strength and conditioning coaches are focusing as much on stretching and recovery as ever before. Keeping your players on the field is crucial....especially on a 53 man roster like the NFL.

Wentz is “overrated” lmao. Absolutely ridiculous statement. You don’t bench a qb that has 21 TDs, 7 int and a 67% completion pct. Get a grip. The sky isn’t falling, I assure you. The defense hasn’t played as well as last year. Have blown games by giving up 4th and Long on multiple occasions see Ten and Carolina games. Wentz doesn’t play db last time I checked. Multiple injuries to the RB and DB positions have been the Achilles heel of this team.

The line can't block, and the WRs rarely get open or any separation.

Agree! But he was also missing some open WRs, not reading the defenses quickly, cerebrally he just seems lost and doesn’t see the field like he used to.
