Def Leopard? Besides “Pour some Sugar on Me” being BAS’ wedding song, why are they important?

Janet Jackson?

Def Leppard a very worthy bunch....Also Radiohead....others bogus in comparison to the supposed title "Rock n Roll Hall of Fame"

Ran out of worthy candidates a few years ago, but still insist on putting 5-6 acts in every year.

I was surprised to see that Def Leppard was one of only five rock bands to have two or more diamond certified albums along with The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Van Halen.

Is that accurate?

HaHa...Very deserving and long time coming...Glad I lived long enough to see it! They should have Ded Flatbird induct them...I wake up every morning to this song and stare at a great screensaver picture on the TV screen of our current great commander in chief and salute!

Very accurate and not watered down that much...By saying watered down this is what I mean and I constantly get into arguments with people and usually end up winning...The other artists benefited by people buying multiple "versions" of the same album...For example I bought at least 3 versions of all of them...Album,cassette and then CD as times changed during that pivotal point in music up until 1984 or so and I say at least 3 but the cassette may have been that many itself...The old vette's cassette player was known for eating them...By vette I mean chevette...HaHa...

So there you have it those other artists sold multiple versions of same record! Fact!!

After all these years that have passed after Steve Clark’s death I often wonder what Def Leppard would have put out if he were alive today.

I loved Def Leppard’s first couple of albums, still sound good today. The problem I have with them is I don’t see how they influenced music like others on the ballot. The same applies to The Zombies and especially Stevie Nicks.

I dont like Todd Rungren but can’t believe he’s not in. He was very influential back in the 70s in different aspects of music. The Cure were a lock to make it, huge in the early days of college music/ alternative. I thought Rage Against the Machine were a lock also, not sure why they were excluded. MC5 basically invented punk, they would have been a better choice also.
