You got kamara and ingram and a top 10 qb all time and your going to call that bs play and give it to a scrub. His play calling leaves alot to be desired. He loves to bring cold guys off the bench in critical situations

Yea, with those two guys, why the hell would you give the ball to some no name?

Throw in the obession with taking the MVP QB out of the game for a guy who covers kicks. Just like the Rams, all of this stuff looks great in October, but in December and for the playoffs, a fumble out of the endzone against a good team sends you home.

One of the most overrated coaches in history. He’s had a generational talent at QB and still missed the playoffs at about a 50% clip, including several down years in the NFC when making the playoffs didn’t mean shit. When they make it, it’s a complete colossal failure outside of post-Katrina. Brees is incredible, but he’s towed this moron for his career. I’d say it’s equally retarded anyone who questions Brees or praises Payton. If Brees had a better coach he’d certainly have more hardware. Unfortunately, these stars many times are judged by their “coaches”, enter Payton, Tomlin, McCarthy and the star dims a bit.

Its not his fault that a player is not warmed up when called to go into the game.I'm sure by now the players know to be ready to enter the game at any given time. You see how he can, with the players he has that he puts in 5 different ones at a time and that's called players you can count on when sent in the game. That was a huge game for them,as they are fighting for home field throughout the playoffs,so you have to pull off all you can on the field.Payton is one of the best coaches in the NFL, and makes sure his players are ready when called upon.

I assume you had a few whiskeys between writing the first sentence and the last sentence.

I do believe you can get "too cute" when you don't have to be

Yep, and I have to wonder about coaching when you think pulling the ball away from your best two players in a crucial situation makes sense. I typically don't care for these stupid GOAT threads but the 3 names that consistently come up in this era are Brady, Brees, and Rodgers. There's a reason why Brady has more Superbowl rings and it does boil down to coaching. Seldom if ever do I see Belichick calling some stupid gimmick play at a crucial time in a game.

I wonder what Brees is thinking about this stuff? I'm sure he says all the right things, but I believe he has to be thinking WTF?

Bringing in Hill was working amazingly well initially, but teams do catch on to that stuff
