At 4:26 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, a 4.5 magnitude earthquake shook Costa Rica.
The movement, according to the National Seismology Network had the epicenter 13 kilometers North of Quepos, Puntarenas, and it was felt in several areas of the provinces of San José and Cartago.

The origin of the earthquake was the subduction of the Cocos Plate.
Earlier this Tuesday another earthquake was felt with a registered magnitude of 4.3 and epicenter located 7 kilometers North East of Pavones, Golfito, Puntarenas.
